GE Profile Microwave - poor qualiity

My kitchen was custom ordered and unfortunately at the time I did not design the cabinets to put the microwave over the stove. I had teenagers at the time, and was afraid they would get burnt using the microwave over a stove top. Ten years later and this is the third GE Profile Series Microwave I have bought to fit in the space designed for it. The quality of this one is awful, what is with the cardboard piece on the inside, after a few months it is stained? As a loyal GE customer, I only hope that you will develop a GE Profile microwave that have the quality that is expected from your products.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Just Right!

This microwave is all I need. I only use a microwave to boil water and to reheat food, so nothing fancy. This also fit nicely in my 15" deep wall cabinet. I purchased the trim kit to give it more of a built-in look. Satisfied with my puchase

cheap plastic that makes loud noise closing door. power setting does not show power level when cooking. previous model was much better. great size for mobile home with small counters

New house-new appliances

Based on previous experience with GE & moving to a new house, we purchased all new appliances, except the microwave. 3 years later when it gave up, the slate color was available in size we needed.

Quality is not as good as previous model

Have had an entire kitchen of GE Profile products for over 10 years and have been very happy with all of them. Just replaced the the mircrowave with this one and do not see that the quality is there. Door is a hard to open and sounds tinny when closing which is pretty disappointing at amount paid. I returned the first one I ordered thinking it was an anomaly but unfortunately the second one was the same. This fits my cabinet and looks good with trim kit but that is really as far as it goes.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very good microwave!

This is a smaller microwave than I have previously owned, therefore has less power. I needed a microwave that fit in a cabinet, and one that had a slate finish. It performs well for its size, but I feel it was overpriced.

I purchased this microwave about 6 weeks ago, replacing a GE spacemaker that failed after 8 years. This spacemaker is far more cheaply made. It is a disappointment, and little more than a distant relative of its predecessor.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This product replaced a similar GE m-oven used for about 10 years. It has all the features we required, is simple to operate, and gives consistent results. The oven sits above the counter on a shelf, space was a major factor in our purchase decision. I would've been interested in two features not offered on this model at my store - a finish other than stainless steel, and more than one power level.
I would recommend this to a friend!
