Underpowered, but fits my small, urban kitchen

Bought this to replace its 11-year old predecessor. This model has slightly less power than the last, but it should fit in the same space, which is a relief for my small San Francisco kitchen. Couldn't find any other brand in this size with comparable wattage. Works fine.

Compact Microwave Oven

Nice compact microwave. But this is my third one in 11 years. The first two lasted about five years each and then, in both of them, the interior paint flaked off, some of it ending up in the food. I expect that the same will happen with this one but GE is the only company that makes this size so I'm stuck with it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Perfect for the right space!

If you're looking for a low profile microwave to fit into a tight space, this might be the ticket for you. Understand ahead of time that this has less voltage than some of the bigger microwaves which is the trade off with a small profile machine like this, but if the space is your main concern then it's OK. The food will still get warm, just not as fast as it would with a bigger machine. Just focus on all that space you saved. I've been very pleased.

This is a nice compact microwave and is so quiet I’m not sure it’s running at times. It has plenty of features to make it a good microwave. On the negative side, the door open/close feature works poorly. It takes two hands to open the microwave, one to push the button and the other to pull the door open.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nothing remarkable

This GE Profile microwave replaces a similar unit that is 10 years old. Same cooking watts (800) but a little larger vertically inside (1cf --> 1.1cf) which means the exterior dimensions are a little higher. I have a very shallow shelf 13" this unit must sit in so I was quite limited in the microwave units available.
My biggest disappointment is the control pad: My old unit had white lettering on all the buttons which means they could be seen in a dark room. This new unit has VERY dark-colored lettering on the buttons which makes it VERY difficult to see the buttons without a lot of light in the room.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Microwave runs very quietly and heats thoroughly .

This microwave was given to us as a gift from our children to replace a similar model that we had bought when we were first married 37 years ago. Only recently had the original microwave begun to show its wear and was no longer very efficient, so we had begun to look at new ones. We had such good luck with this countertop microwave that we were hoping that it was still being made. Our kitchen is not set up to have a built-in or over-the-stove microwave.
With the exception of the button words being a little difficult to read in the evening with overhead lighting, we have been very pleased. During normal daylight lighting, however, we have no difficulty reading those very same buttons. All other updates and changes have been found to be user friendly and technologically advanced.
