Quiet!

So far, so good. This microwave is much quieter than the older version it replaced. I wonder if that's because it does not have as powerful a venting fan. I notice that the interior steams up just about every time something moist is heated. But, it heats up fine & is the only model that will fit into my space.

Older model was better

Had to purchase this microwave as my older model was no longer being made. The panel (numbers, etc.) is grayed out so it makes it very difficult to see. The older model had white numbers. Also, numbers are harder to push on this panel. It seems I really have to push down on the number in order to get the microwave to start. This is not a very good microwave for seniors. I will look for another brand once this one poops out on me in 10 years.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

2nd one in 4 years

We remodeled our kitchen in 2014 and purchased this unit. 4 years later it broke. I'll leave that there. Our cabinets were designed for it so I ordered another one. The door seems flimsy, not solid like the 1st one. Also, the turntable makes a ticking noise I can't isolate.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We bought this unit for two reasons. First to match existing GE Profile appliances, which it does beautifully. It is a great blend of industrial modern and practical. Second, it needed to fit into an existing space, without any additional escutcheon or flanges. The dimensions provided in the specs, that we reviewed prior to purchase, were helpful and exact.

This unit replaces a previous model GE Profile microwave that failed after 10 years. I have only a 13" shelf in a small kitchenette so I am quite limited on the choice of microwave that will fit that shallow a shelf.
Out-of-the-box I wasn't "wow"ed by this new model. After using it for a while, it definitely feels "less solid" (cheaper construction) and the thing I find most annoying is GE's choice to use gray lettering on the buttons as opposed to the white lettering I had on my previous microwave. Unless you have bright light in the room, good luck reading the button labels. It's a perfect example of design-change WITHOUT testing. Also, this new unit is more noisy than my old unit -- the turntable makes a rapid "clicking" noise where the old unit had a smoother sound.

Just an Average Microwave & Under Powered

This is the 3rd GE under the cabinet microwave I've bought. I keep buying them because they keep the dimensions the same and it allows me to install them under my cabinet with an exact fit between the trim work. Unfortunately its the most cheaply built and the least powerful of the three. But it operates properly and looks good.

Seems OK but over priced

I had a space in my cabinet to fit an old spacemaker ii. This was the only microwave that would fit the dimensions with the over priced trim kit. So I am stuck with ge again.
