LOVE IT!

In 2003 I bought a GE Space Saver microwave to fit in a custom kitchen cabinet with an accordion roll top door and it worked PERFECTLY for almost 16 years! I could not be more thrilled with its performance and quality.
Last week it finally decided it was done. I immediately googled "GE Space Saver" microwave...couldn't find one. I then went to the box stores and was told by one that GE stopped manufacturing them 4 years ago. The search began visiting more box stores and online since I wanted to continue to use my designated kitchen microwave cabinet! Nothing, and I mean nothing was going to fit it. My only choice would be to buy a tiny microwave in-order-to get the depth to fit in the cabinet! After looking at the tiny microwaves, they would only accommodate a saucer size plate!
FINALLY, I found the GE Profile (Space Maker)!!! It fit the cabinet perfectly and I am thrilled that I continued to search and found the perfect microwave!
GE, please never stop manufacturing the GE Space Maker microwave!!!

Great features easy to use

This is our third GE Profile microwave. The operating menu of buttons to press is easy navigate and well thought out. This makes it very easy to use with convenient use choices. Caution, don't run it empty

Very quiet operation ... turntable on/off feature helpful... you can use the microwave while using the timer without interrupting the timer. Seems to heat very evenly.

Unnecessary changes to previous model

While I will say this unit runs more quietly than the 12 year old model we replaced there were some unnecessary changes. First it won't mount up with the existing mounting brackets/holes. And secondly they changed the keypad and not for the better. The buttons are somewhat smaller and the graphics on the display are so light that they can only be easily seen in bright light. I read where some people took to using a flashlight to see the keypad which seems rather ridiculous. The configuration of the button controls made more logical sense on the older model as well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Less Well Built GE Profile

This newer model is no where better in terms of construction and performance than the much older GE Profile microwave it replaced. I am constantly disappointed with its shoddy construction and less interior space. Thought the newer model would at least be as good or better than the old one, but no ...
