GE COUNTERTOP MICROWAVE

Purchased this particular microwave for size accommodation. However, the performance has failed. We had the original unit repair, then replaced and we are having problems with the second unit. We are waiting for a repair person to check out the microwave for performance. If unable to repair, we will be returning the unit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Only replacement that fits

I was required to replace a previous GE model of the same size, so I was stuck with this version. The controls are okay. Too many options/cycles on the reheat button (why wouldn't "plate" be the primary instead of "pizza". The turntable is awkward, clunky and makes clean ups more difficult. The previous model didn't have it but had a microwave source that rotated..much better, you could fit a rectangular dish in it and all was heated evenly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This microwave is quiet and works great! love the defrost feature where you put in the weight of the frozen meat and it sets a perfect time to defrost.

Great small microwave

I have two of these, and use them in niches in the cabinets - I don't know anything about trim kits, so cannot comment on that. The quick , single button 30 second, or 1-6 minute selection is fabulous, and way more convenient than other brands. Unlike what I have read in some reviews, it works great - it is obvious that some owners didn't bother to read the manual.

Our old GE profile bit the dust after 13 years of great service. We ordered this model as it was the manufacturer's recommended replacement. It really looks great... better than our other one... and it's quieter. But... there are a couple of little negatives. It sounds junky when the door is opened and closed. Also, it seems to take longer cooking times.

Worst Microwave I have Ever had

I only use the microwave for 2 things. Heat up my coffee that gets cold before I get it drank and popcorn. This microwave does not make the microwave bag popcorn. I have tried different brands and different sizes from regular to snack size with no success. It burns it before it cooks it. 3.0-3.5 size bag used with Popcorn setting, still unsuccessful.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I installed this unit 2 months ago. The unit works good. The beverage timer is way to long to heat coffee. Unit is tinny sounding while running and door vibrates. The rotating dish starts up noisy at times. The prior model of same GE unit was quitter and smaller in height of which was better for ( space saver design ).

LOW WATTAGE CANCELS GOOD ATTRIBUTES

If we knew about the 800 watts being LOW compared to other microwaves, we would have looked elsewhere. . We NOW realize that most frozen food cooking instructions are based on 1000 watt microwaves. We seem to spend way too much time adding 25% to cooking times to compensate for the lower wattage on this one. Otherwise the design and functionality are good. But lower wattage is valueless and detracts from an otherwise good appliance.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
