On the plus side, it fits the space, which no other microwave did, it's fairly quiet, and has some nice features. The "reheat plate" works well.
On the minus side, it was expensive. It is low-powered, seeming even weaker than the same-wattage oven that it replaces. The oven continues for another couple seconds while it's beeping, after the counter has reached zero. The turntable does not do a rotation an even number of times in 30 seconds or a minute. This doesn't matter for a plate, but when I put a measuring cup or my coffee mug in, then when the cycle is done the handle is pointing the wrong way. Annoying. And I can't anticipate which way it will end up (and compensate for it) because I don't know which way the turntable will go at any given time. It changes direction.
Additional minuses: The kitchen timer beeps once when the time is up and then stops. So if I'm not within earshot when it goes off, I don't even know that it's happened. *Timers should make noise until they are turned off*. The "reheat soup" and "beverage" settings have both caused boil-overs. It's hard to see in the fairly small window (at least when it's at cabinet height) so there was a big mess to clean up.
Finally, customer service told me that the trim kit I had for the JEM31WF that this is replacing would work with this new microwave. It did not. Not even close. And because the trim kit that is sold with this microwave is 27" wide, I had to get a custom made trim kit. The old GE standard one fit my 26" cabinets just fine.

MY THIRD SPACE SAVER

I have just installed my third GE Space Saver and love it. It is not only the perfect dimensions outside but inside as well. I could not find another microwave that fits as flush to the cabinets and has space enough inside for my large lasagna pan. The keypad options are simple and useful, not too many, not to few. The façade is beautiful and the hanging kit allows it to be suspended above counter. We built a new kitchen around this model so I hope it is always available should we need to replace it. I believe I bought my first one about 30 years ago so the product performs for a good long time. I highly recommend it!

Had to buy this unit as it was the only size that fit into our cabinet "built in" space. Replaced a similar unit. It works fine and is quieter than the last one.

Although very expensive, this microwave fits our needs perfectly. At 800W, it is lower power than our 1300W previous microwave, but it’s nice not to constantly overcook everything. It is the quietest microwave I have ever heard and has great features, including a good defrost setting. The frame (costs extra) makes it fit into the space perfectly with no problems with heat and ventilation. It has plenty of interior space, so I don’t miss my larger microwave. Finding a microwave that fits a shallow upper cupboard, but meets our cooking needs was difficult, but this is perfect!
