Replacement microwave

We bought this to replace an older similar model that quit working. We needed the dimensions of this one offered. This was the suggested replacement for the previous GE. The dimensions were almost the same however mounting underneath was frustrating as mounting holes were different. Keypad is difficult to read, previous microwave was much better in that regard. Light inside of microwave seems slightly dimmer than previous model. Timer begins on its own rather than by pushing start. I like to set the timer get everything in the oven and then press to start the timer, it begins after approximately five seconds of setting the required time
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy and fast features

Love the simple features and size of this microwave . This is my second one had 1st one for 12 years . Fits my kitchen cabinet space just right. Glad I could still find the same one again. First one still works well , giving it to someone else!

Same response as below. Smaller in size to my prior microwave and takes longer to heat/cook than prior. Otherwise similar appearance.

Turntable squeaks

Turntable squeaks loudly every time it is on. I will either be returning it for a new one, or having it repaired.

This is a good basic microwave; however the dark control panel makes it hard to read the settings.

Worst appliances I ever bought!!!

We recently purchased all new GE kitchen appliances in the slate gray. Words cannot express how unbelievably disappointed we are with all four of our GE appliances. Let me start by saying there was so many things wrong with the oven, it was returned. We ended up purchasing a totally different oven. Second, six weeks into owning the microwave I had to have a repairman come out and fix it. It is still not working properly and makes a very loud sound. I was told it has nothing to do with the installation and that's just how the microwave sounds!!!! Third the finish on the products is so thin and stains so easily it is a joke. The dishwasher has fingerprint stains on the front and some odd dark dots that will not come off. Our frigerator has a scuff on the door and the top of the microwave has some stains on as well, that I can only assume came from steam??!!?!!.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Replaced a still-working 14-year-old GE Spacemaker

We were doing some updating in our kitchen and decided to replace our built in 14-year-old Built-in GE Spacemaker microwave. We looked at other small MWs but the appearance of the new model, and the good luck we had with the old model, made our decision easy to buy another.
