Perfect replacement for our previous GE microwave

Very disappointed in this product

Had to replace previous model as it died; this was the only option that fit into the space. This replacement is a downgrade from the previous GE Profile Spacemaker Microwave although it is the same wattage - 800 - rather than 1000 which is the standard these days. Not as many useful features and constantly get error messages for no reason. Buttons need to be pressed very hard or hit once or twice to get microwave to work. VERY disappointed that GE changed the measurements just slightly enough that we had to also buy a new trim kit (overpriced!) which is cheap in both construction and appearance. Both microwave and trim show fingerprints much more than previous one did. If there had been any other option that fit into this built-in space we have, we would have not purchased this. Our only other option was to tear apart cabinetry and/or remodel kitchen. All of our other products are GE Profile, but we will not be replacing them with the same as we have lost respect for the integrity of the GE product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Broke already

We loved this sweet microwave, but it stopped working the other day....just 3 years after purchasing. I am planning to buy another unit. My question for your is, do I need to order a new undercabinet mounting kit? Or may we use the kit on the unit we have that just broke down? It appears to be the same model?

Hi Sookie - We're so sorry to hear your microwave stopped working. Please try disconnecting power by unplugging or turning off the breaker for 30 seconds to reset the electronics to see if that resolves the issue. If it does not, replacement is recommended. We have good news! You can use the same undercabinet mounting kit (JXA019K) if you replace your PEM31SFSS model with exactly the same model.

Still Going Strong After 11 Years

Pretty amazing that any appliance lasts more than a few years in these days of our disposable, wasteful society. But this microwave is a gem - - still chugging along with zero problems, ever, since 2009. It's 800 watts, not 1100. However, no problem at all, if it ain't broke... This is a marvelous microwave. GE got it right.

Does a good job

This microwave is very eye-appealing and quiet. The reheat and sensor cooking is pretty good. We have to add about 20 seconds if reheating pasta in a bowl and not a plate but the sensor is very much on target.
Really, the only thing that let us down was the one we looked at had a badge logo on the bottom front, and the one that was shipped has a painted logo. We chose the badge logo as it matched our other GE appliances. Not sure why the images show it with a badge and they ship it with a painted logo.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This microwave fits in my space that I have in my new cabinets. Wish it had more wattage. The turntable makes a noise when it is running. Expensive.
