The black stainless finish is beautiful.

The family likes the finish. However, I think the swoop design of the face was better with the last iteration of this model. Thank goodness GE is generous with the specs. With everything as published, we were expecting to hire our contractor to shave up to 1/2 inch from the opening of our microwave alcove, since the previous models were smaller than this variant. I was happy to see that instead of 12 1/8 inches tall, the unit is only 11 3/4 inches. No extra woodworking needed. All the features are the same or similar as the past two GE Profile Microwaves we have had.

Not as good as the old version

The microwave is not as good as the previous microwave JEM31SF. This new version is longer but has a smaller turn table and the defrost function "cooks" rather than defrosts. Sadly, I'm dissatisfied but I installed it and it is the only under counter microwave I could find.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Small but does everything we need!

We where looking for something small to build into a cabinet and save some counter space. We wanted double ovens and didn't want to take that space for the microwave. This small unit does everything we need, has plenty of power, and takes up much less space in our kitchen

Great compact microwave - except underpowered

Great option for under cabinet mounting as well as simplicity of use. However, this unit is underpowered compared to other microwaves, particularly countertop models. While it does not make good microwave popcorn, for all other uses increasing cooking time works well for typical household uses.

800 watt barely acceptable for a microwave oven. Takes longer to heat food items. Also, the control panel is not backlit, making it difficult of view in a not-so-well-lit room. Otherwise, this is a reasonably good oven that fits well in the cabinetry space
