Fairly disappointed

Purchased this microwave to replace my broken one that I've had for almost 20 years. It's supposedly the same model, just a current version. I was disappointed to learn that the wattage is reduced on the current models. The one I had previously was 1100 or 1200 watts, vs. this one is 900 watts. Not sure why they reduced the wattage, but it's not as powerful as it's previous model. It is a nice looking microwave, though.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Solid microwave

This is a pretty solid microwave. We bought pretty much the same microwave for our old house. It lasted about six years, then the button you push to open the door started malfunctioning. It feels like that door open button is still the weak link. But we had to get this one as it was the ONLY one that would fit our pre-cut kitchen cabinets. Don't know why no other brand makes this size. It is nice looking and so far is working fine.

Good GE Replacement Microwave

My old microwave oven that we had for 8 years just quit working. It was too expensive to fix so we were happy that GE still made the undercabinet model identical to our old one.

Overpriced microwave

Very Quiet

This unit replaced a GE microwave used for 11 years. It may not have as many features and it may take an extra few buttons to reheat something but it is quiet, and I really appreciate it at night when I want to use it and the rest of the household is asleep.

Great space saving microwave. This replaced an older GE microwave that was designed to fit in a certain space. This is an exact replacement, however with very modern features. I like it a lot.

Unbelievably disappointed

Had to get this model to fit into prescribed space. So disappointed. One thinks that appliance quality, design and features would improve over time - but no! It’s a microwave so one deals with this decline in quality but the disappointment is key. Cheap features, no robust features but it fits - barely - the space it hast to. Not sure why GE has to promote poorer design and features.

No Longer Fits

We bought this GE Profile Microwave to replace the one we had and loved for 16 years. We positioned the first one as an under-cabinet microwave and had the new one installed in the same space. We were very disappointed when we found that because of a change in the door configuration, (unlike the old oven where the door did not go all the way to the edge of the microwave, the new one has a larger door that does go to left edge of the oven), and we can only open the door 2 - 3 inches before it binds with the cabinetry on the left. The space was perfect for the former model but doesn't work for the newer model for this reason. I would add that as a result of having a larger door, it closes rather loudly.

If you find that your microwave door closes loudly or is harder to close than your previous model, the difference in the door noise is due to a firmer spring in the door latch; this is a normal condition for the microwave. You can lift up on the latch to feel the tension.
