I think the microwave is fine. What I was most impressed with was how well designed and simple the trim kit was with the microwave.
I had to replace an older and slightly differently sized model. Once I was confident I was buying the proper replacement model and trim kit, I assumed there would be some unexpected problem with installing the replacement.
I was amazed at how well designed the trim kit was, how easy it was to install, and how well the combined products fit within the existing space. If one does their research and can use a tape measure, drill and screwdriver, it is easy to do.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I had to replace the former model of this microwave which stopped working This newer model feels cheap. The microwave is all plastic, the interior is smaller and overall it is disappointing. The only reason I purchased this microwave was because it fit in my custom cabinet. Also the surround kit is just plastic junk. Poor quality all around. I am not happy with my purchase.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice Microwave

We needed a microwave that wouldn't stick out from the cabinet face. This one is perfect, looks good and works great. The only thing I don't like is how loud the door is when it's closed. It sounds as if it's going to break.

Spacesaver GE Microwave

I have bought the GE Spacesaver microwave at least 5 times over the last 30 years, not because I love it, but because the space in my cabinet was built for these. And every time we have to buy a new one, the trim kit doesn’t fit the newer model. These models are ridiculously priced as are the trim kits. And, they are not durable. I also don’t like that they are not 1000 watts.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Due to different configurations and design changes involving airflow and heat issues, new microwaves are only approved for installation with current trim kits. Trim kits are also model-specific, so your existing trim kit will not fit a new model. We're very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Small improvements would make better

Overall a good microwave- does what it needs to do. The wattage is low which is not a huge deal but does take longer to cook/re-heat food.
For stainless steel it does seem to get messier/see fingerprints more than others/our previous. It is smaller than our previous microwave (inside space) which isn't a huge deal since we aren't often heating up large items but for fitting in the same spot, its tiny inside.
One main issue is the timer option does not continuously beep. It beeps (loudly I will say which alleviates some of the issue) once and then turns off. So if you aren't in the room to hear it go off then you essentially miss when it beeped and then have no idea how much time has passed since it went off. In my opinion defeats the idea of a timer.
Also seems to have some weird sensor issue that if you heat up food and don't open the door after it goes off you cannot just hit another add 30 secs or add 1 minute. You have to open the door, close it and then turn it back on.
We were sort of limited in replacements as it is an in cabinet microwave and were told this was our only option. For the cost we would have hoped for a better product.

We will be sure and share your comments with our microwave design team to aid with future design improvements. Stainless steel does have its challenges for keeping finger print to a minimal. For this size microwave this is the highest wattage we offer. We will let them know about the timer beep functionality as well. That is normal to have to either open the door or hit the clear pad to then use the add 30 seconds pad after doing a sensor operation. If this is built into cabinet then we hope you used the proper built-in trim kit as well. Stay safe. Geoff@GEA

This microwave replaced the prior GE model we purchased in 2007 during a kitchen remodel. It is difficult to find a microwave less than 13" in height. We read reviews of this model and noted some concerns, but so far this microwave has performed without any issues. We believe this model cooks faster and more uniformly than the old model.

Quiet machine

We replaced a microwave with this one and what a difference! It is quiet compared to our other one. We have an open kitchen to the living room and it really makes a difference, oh and it cooks a lot better too!
