Downgrade from previous model -preheat button

I'm just disappointed in this microwave. It is the 3rd GE 'spacemaker' microwave we have purchased since 1992. It replaced one that was 15 y ears old. My biggest disappointment was that the reheat button, which we referred to as the magic button in the previous model, no longer is a push once and forget about it button. Just push and it magically reheated out leftovers without any further input. The new model makes us hit at least 3 buttons to try to do the same thing. It also seems to me to be noisier than the previous model.
Normal functions seem fine and as expected (time cook, power level, etc)....just miss that 'magic' reheat button we had on the previous model

Not so great microwave

GE Microwave is poorly made. Door latch is cheap and doesn't work great. Also there is only one lightbulb and that is insufficient to see what is inside. Wattage also seems low.

Workhorse of a micro.

I love the modern look with stainless steel. I also like the ease of using it for all functions on the microwave.
I use it to defrost, reheat and cook. It does a terrific job!

I like the way the microwave looks with one exception. The lettering and numbers are hard to see on the black microwave. It would be better if they were a stronger white. The function has been great with no complaints.

Understanding the limits of electrical devices

A solid simple and small microwave that fits the exact spot that the last one died in. Hopefully this one will outlast the previous one that held up for about 8 years. With these appliances, one is just renting them for as long as they work, then the normal attrition setup in this physical realm takes its toll...just as it eventually does to us all. To resist the truth is to deny its reality.
I would recommend this to a friend!
