Nice Small Microwave

This microwave was purchased to replace another GE Spacesaver microwave we purchased back in 1996. The old microwave was still working perfectly but the metal insides were starting to show signs of wear. Our new Spacesaver microwave worked perfectly right out of the box. It is very easy to use, and we love some of the features, such as being able to turn the turntable on and off and the 30 seconds of extra cook time button.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Unlike most products that have more bells and whistles and non essential controls, GE remains as a quality, solid and durable product that consumers rely on for performance. It's a microwave not a rocket ship. With more controls and electronics come more complications and things that could go wrong. GE makes Generally Exceptional products that are reliable and efficient. I don't need to watch a soap opera on it, I need a microwave - to microwave. Thank you GE!

I am very disappointed in this GE microwave. This replacement unit is not nearly the quality of the previous unit. The door opening mechanism and keyboard are loud and clunky instead of the smooth operation of the previous unit. I purchased this unit with a phone call to the local dealer. If I had seen the unity prior to purchase, I would have selected another brand. This GE unit looks and sounds cheap>

Your microwave door closes loudly or is harder to close than your previous model, because of a firmer spring in the door latch; this is a normal condition for the microwave. You can lift up on the latch to feel the tension. We strive to continuously improve, and your comments will be used so that we can keep improving.

Needed to replace the same model and size (15 years old). This is the only microwave I could find that fit the space. Very noisy when opening and especially when closing. Some of the quick functions are quite picky and have to input a function several times for success. For the price, expected a much more updated and quiet version of its predecessor. You're GE, do better.

Looks great - that’s about it

The microwave is brand new, and upon installation none of the upper functions work - F4 error code. Called for service, took a week to come out, said they need to order parts and no idea how long it will be. Bought this microwave because of the look and dimensions, didn’t have any illusions about power given it’s only 800w and reviews weren’t good. It’s way overpriced, and still I am being told to wait for parts instead of just getting it replaced with a brand new one that works! Unacceptable, don’t buy it!!

Replacement Microwave

I purchased this PEM31DF2BB model to replace my old GE under the cabinet microwave that was 10 years old. I was told the mounting holes would would line up with my existing holes They did not. The power cord was on the opposite side of the machine which caused some difficulty in installation as well. The most frustrating feature is that none of the display control buttons illuminate. They are almost impossible to read ! The clock numbers illuminate nicely. Even if the control buttons indications were in white paint it would help. You have to almost put your nose on the panel to see what each button's function is. Also, the timer only gives one beep signal when it is finished. If you are out of the room and don't hear it then you missed your only signal. My old GE microwave timer beeped until you turned it off, constantly reminding you that time was up! And my old GE Microwave had illuminated control buttons. Why would you change these features??? I am disappointed that installation was difficult and these features make the unit that much more difficult to use.

This my 3rd GE Profile Microwave. I got my 1st as a gift in 1989. Each time I replace I am disappointed. My first was great. The design and quality have gone down hill. The only reason I continue to get it againn is because of the size-the only thing that has not changed. I have a custom space under my cabinets for it. You eliminated the original glass interior bottom and put in a turntable-boo. The upper built in mixer was so much better. I could cook or warm in a 13x9 pan.. The overall power has decreased with each model. My original had a probe and a rack. You have diminished the appliance and kept the large price.
