This is the second one of these because the first crashed after 2 years of very sparce use maybe 1-2 times a day for less than a minute most times. It is fitted into a cabinet (Meeting GE specs) with GE recommended faceplate kit. Went back with the same unit to save installation costs which if changed would have cost more than unit. But nit a happy camper; My last microwave was still working after 18 years when I sold my house with it in it. But it wasn't a GE.

Quiet and powerful

I had this same microwave for almost 9 years. It did great for about 7 and a half of those years, then it was doing things like starting by itself. It couldn't be fixed, so I finally bought a new one. It's a built in and I have the trim kit, so I wanted the same one. This might have a slightly different model #, but it was the replacement for the one I had and looks identical. It had been in use for over 4 months and, so far, it's great! It's very quiet, unlike the previous one. It worjs exactly as intended, and for a small, 800W microwave, it's pretty powerful. I definitely recommend.

Great Replacement for our old GE Spacemaker II

Our vintage 1998 GE Spacemaker II microwave recently finally decided to go into full-time retirement. My wife needed to have a similar countertop microwave that could also fit her many 11x15 inch glass dishes that have a small end lip handle and to also have the ability to turn off the turntable. The additional requirement I was given was that the particular location where this microwave would sit, my wife also wanted the outside depth to be no greater than 13". Well this GE PEM31DFBB was the perfect replacement! After 1 week of daily use the cook time is stable, the control menu is familiar and intuitive for my wife so all is GOOD !!!
I would recommend this to a friend!
