A big mistake

I purchased this microwave in August of 2021 only 3 and 1/2 years ago and had it built into a cabinet with a custom frame kit and it has already stopped working

While we understand the importance of an appliance operating for an extended amount time, it is not possible to determine the product failure rate, lifespan, life expectancy, or life cycle of an appliance. There are many variables involved, such as frequency of use, type of use, location of appliance, care, and maintenance.

Excellent microwave

My GE microwave oven lasted for 16 years, and then I had to replace it with an updated version of the same model. So far, it works well.

There is much better!

This is the 1.1 CU. Ft countertop microwave and it's such a low wattage that it takes three times the amount to heat anything, in comparison to our last over the range style. We wanted to be able to build our cabinet around the microwave and apparently for this fit it was our o lt option? Not sure we had a capable sales rep. We just revamped our kitches with all GE and are very happy with are other products. But this one not at plus it is not fingerproof at all.

Our countertop models that also can be built-in won't fit every space. This model requires 17-3/8 W x 9 H x 12-1/4 D. We will be passing your comments about the material and the exterior needing fingerprint resistance over to our product team to review. That way we can look for improvements we can make for our models going forward.

Space saver microwave

The microwave looks great and fits my small under tge cabinet space well. So far, it is also working well. My only complaint so far is tge price which is double tge price of most standard size microwaves.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Closest fit for the built-in space.

This is a replacement for a GE Profile which lasted about 13 years. Had to replace as something caught fire and slightly melted the plastic side of the motor. Then, wife heated up some gelled oil for several minutes which caused splatter on the paint which peeled then off when I wiped the surface. This replacement fit was the closest to the prior built-in area with some cabinet modifications.
PROS: internal walls are now non-plastic. When on, the sound is much quieter than the previous model. Even though it’s 800 watts compared to the previous 1.3 kw, the food seems to heat up just as well.
CONS: the door opening/closing is not as smooth. The pad buttons require more finger pressure to activate. Hint: use the pad of your finger to push the button, not the tip of the finger.
Hopefully, this model will last as long. I am contemplating on buying a second similar model to have on hand since it was difficult to find a replacement which fits the cut out of the built-in space.

Small footprint - big interior - great price!

We bought this because our home didn't get built with a microwave. We keep it in the pantry and it fits perfectly on the shelf in there. Small enough for a pantry but big enough inside to heat up anything we have found to put into it. Does a great job compared to the big GE Profile microwave built in units we used to have that cost a fortune.
