Had my old GE microwave 15 years hope this one does as well.
The feature I like most is the ability to turn off the turn table when
using larger dishes.

Bought this a few months ago to replace an older model that had died. This is the updated version of the same model. So far it works just as expected and we have had no problems.

We use this microwave all the time for thawing meat and frozen left overs. I also use it for cooking sweet potatoes. No complaints.
One interesting thing occurred when lightning knocked out our power on evening. The clock on the microwave did not come back on. The controls still seem to work fine, just on clock display. We actually prefer it without the clock anyway, so we would have turned off the clock before if we had known we could.

Very good product, minor issues

Would be an excellent rating except for two issues:
1) Just barely fits under a cabinet (if you want to hang it) and nowhere does GE come out and state that it will fit. You have to assume that the depth of 12-7/8 inches includes 7/8 inch of door, so that with the door open the body will be flush with the front of your cabinets.
2) My previous GE microwave was a little smaller but had a larger platter. Downsizing the platter in the larger microwave was not a real smart move on GE's part, as it limits the size of the plate you can heat food on.

Sub standard quality

We purchased two of these identical units. They both replaced previous GE units that had only lasted about 4 years. Upon installation and after a couple of weeks of usage we have already noticed some poor quality issues such as: exterior trim loose on units, units remain on when door closes.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
