Don't miss the size

Not as good as the original

We owned a GE Spacemaker II and recently had to replace it. The original was 1000 Watts and the new one is sadly only 800 Watts. The timer on the original would ring and continue to ring/buzzes until it was shut off and was loud enough to hear. The new one is not loud enough and only rings/buzzes once and then shuts off. The keypad on the original reacted to your finger touch. The keypad on the new one is terrible. I can barely get it to reach to the pressure of my finger. And that is just what we have discovered wrong with this model in less than 24 hours. Unfortunately, so far it is the only one that fits into the custom cabinet that we have. Totally disappointed. And my husband is a contractor who builds custom kitchens. He will never recommend this product or build for this product again. He probably has to reconstruct our kitchen cabinet just to get a proper microwave at this point.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Just the right size!

I had to find a microwave that would fit under the cabinet, not over the stove. This is due to the cabinet height in my 1960s split level. It could be no more than 12 inches high, like the old GE space maker series, which is what this one replaced.This was not an easy task to accomplish. It is almost non existent. This was pretty much my only choice. I also needed stainless, which was an option. It does run very quiet, and heats food excellent. My only two complaints is the doors do not open and shut quietly. I also think they are a bit pricey for their size. We'll have to see how long it performs.

Replacement microwave

I liked the previous microwave I had a bit better than this one. I had to have the cabinet routed out to fit this microwave because this is the replacement model for the previous model I had and the old microwave was smaller. An added expense that I wasn't at all happy about. It seems like the plate may be smaller, too, as the 2 dog dishes I put in the microwave each morning don't fit as well on the plate as they did on my previous microwave. All in all, so far it's a good product.

Looks cheap and very hard to open door

I ordered this microwave because I was told this model replaced the one I had (that lasted 2 years). I would never recommend this microwave. Huge GE button looks tacky, door is very hard to open and the control buttons are very hard to push. I should have gone with my gut and stayed away from GE Profile line. All of my other appliances are GE Monogram. So far so good on these appliances.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
