GE Profile Series Microwave Oven

Great appliance and good replacement for the model we bought 10 years ago, the only negative thing is the noise, it's way louder than our 'old' GE Profile Microwave.

This one is already make weird noises

This is our third GE Microwave in 13 years. Is this too often to change them out? This one is making flashes in the top right and weird noises. Also, they changed the controls, and not for the better. The fashion is to make everything the same color and font. DESIGNERS THIS IS BAD. We need a bit of color and font so that we do not need to read the button everytime.

I replaced original old GE appliances with new models. The new microwave lasted a few months after one year warranty expired. I bought exact replacement but door clicks and I need to call for service

Product stopped heating after only 1st week of use, it was used less than 10 times. However it was under warranty and the GE Rep came out to fix it.

GE "Cheaped Out on This Model

We had a similar GE Microwave for about 8 years & were happy with it. It had a trim plate with it as it was installed in a cabinet at face level. These trim plates are very expensive, so we wanted to use the old one. This model seemed to approximate our dead microwave the most. We tried to check on line if our old trim plate would work. GE recommended a different model number trim plate. Also, measurements of this microwave were slightly different than our dead one, so we just were not sure the old trim plate would work. Also, if you have your microwave in a built in cabinet, you try to find a new one the same size so it will fit. Why do they keep changing the sizes by 1/4 inch here and 1/2 inch there? So, we held our noses and bought this model. Fortunately, the old trim plate worked. And the microwave fit into the cabinet. Why can't GE list all of their trim plates that will work with a given microwave? I would think it would be good business to do this. If I know my old trim plate will work with the new model, I would be more likely to buy another GE microwave. I almost didn't. I guess they think it is more important to sell me a new trim plate! After we installed it, it seemed to work ok, but with two major annoyances. First, when using the timer, when the time is up, the microwave will beep once and only once. If you are out of the room when it beeps, too bad. You are then on your own. The previous model beeped repeatedly until you stopped it. This was much more useful. (The new model beeps repeatedly when you cook with it.) I wonder how much they paid their development team to leave out this feature? Also, microwaves are used mainly for reheating, at least, ours is. I put a cup of coffee in to reheat and hit either the 30 second or 1 minute button and come back to find the cup handle at the back of the microwave, just where it is most inconvenient. It seems that fixing these two details would be easy to engineer into a microwave. So far, the microwave has worked as it should, but these two annoyances are constant reminders that GE did not pay attention to details. I wonder what other details they did not pay attention to?

Stopped working after a year

Just past our 1 year mark and it will no longer heat food. Has full power (turns on, table turns but no heat).
I get to pay a minimum of 99.95 to GE to find out what is wrong and then pay to fix it.
