Perfect replacement for former microwave

Easy to use. Same features as previously owned 12 year old microwave. Was able to use old trim kit. Being as I pulled out the old microwave and installed the new one myself I was extremely happy with ease of installation.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good features by it died a premature smoking deat

We bought this microwave in late August 2015, but because of a delivery delay it was not installed until late October. In March 2017 it began making a rumbling sound and a day later it started sparking and smoking. We actually used the microwave for 18 months before it broke down, just long enough for the warranty to expired. Its predecessor lated for 18 years! When we bought it the salesman assured us that the new one would not last for 18 years, but he implied that we might get 5 years. A year and a half for a semi built in appliance is unacceptable. Since the cost of a repair is about the price of a new microwave, we will give up on the built in look, use the dead body for dish storage, and buy another brand's lower priced countertop model, expecting it to be a throw away item, rather than a kitchen investment
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is my 3rd GE microwave and you have to buy a new trim kit for each model change. Microwave oven lasts 3-5 years and when they "die" you need a new trim kit which is 2/3 the price of the oven. This time I bought 2 ovens so when this one dies in a few years I will not have to buy another trim kit-have a spare oven

Quit Working within 16 months

This microwave was installed by the builder in a new house. We liked the features, looks, etc of the unit. But, it stopped working while heating food after only 16 months of use. After looking at other reviews, I find this a common problem and am not sure if want to buy a replacement GE microwave or buy a different brand. I'm very disappointed in the quality (16 months is pathetically short life span!) and only having a one year warranty.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
