Manufacture default

Looks like most of the users are having same issue, Microwave stop heating after few years of use, I think a manufacture issue. I had issues since it was installed 4 years ago it will just die on me inside light was on but there was no display and will come on by itself after 10-15 minutes. GE send technician but they could not find the problem, they have visited few times and even told me if anything happens again they will replace it but when I called them last year they said I am out of warranty. I stopped heating since last month and makes a loud noise. They do not manufacture it anymore and cannot find similar product to fit in.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A problem from the start!

It’s a nice looking microwave, but it has always had problems with the latch/ door not opening, and always made a strange noise. But now the noise has gotten louder, & it won’t heat food.
After having its predecessor for 15 years, I thought this model would be great, too. But it’s been nothing but trouble. So now I’m afraid to replace it or anything new from GE.

Nice looking but didn’t last

We are pretty disappointed in the slate GE products we purchased 6 years ago. In today’s standards maybe 6 years is a long time but appliances should last longer in my opinion. We have had issues with 3 out of the 5 GE slate appliances we purchased. This microwave will no longer work. Repairing it costs as much as replacing almost IF parts are available. We cannot replace with a matching microwave because they no longer make this one. Not happy!

Sparking - No guidance on replacement model

Same as Andre, this model is sparking and must be replaced. I have matching GE oven and both are installed in wall with matching trim kits I need replacement that will work with existing oven.

Microwave NOT WORKING

The GE microwave Model # PEB7226SF1SS came with the house we purchased. It is not working now and is not available to purchase anywhere. What is the like for like replacement model - dimension wise so that it can fit in the built in section where the current one is installed? It sparked and the silver plate on the right wall burned. No aluminum foil or and cups with trim have never been used.
