Do I Need a new microwave?

A few weeks ago it stopped heating sporadically. Yesterday the microwave started sparking and popping. Can’t use.

Dangerous and disappointing

We had this microwave and it suddenly stared sparkling inside the microwave and I was dissapointed because of what happened and thank god it did not harm me

Dangerous product, fire hazard

Do not buy this product. Fire hazard. It sparks when heating any high fat food such as cold butter or choc chips. Look at other photos with the burned inside- mine looks the same.

Sparks

Sparked and is a fire hazard. It was installed with a trim kit and now we are stuck with a huge hole since this product is no longer available.

Microwave fire hazard

Same thing happened to my microwave as all the others that gave a 1 star review. It would spark and scorch the inside. Luckily, there was no house fire. There should have been a recall on these. Now have to buy a whole new microwave and trim kit to fit my cabinet.

Dangerous! Turned off circuit breaker

I have this style microwave and it was just fine. My daughter warmed up her food and came to me saying the microwave was sparking behind the cardboard piece. I went to look at it and yes it's pretty scary. I turned off the circuit in fear that it could cause more danger. This item needs an immediate recall as it is dangerous. Several homes built in my neighborhood installed GE brand microwaves. With all these reviews saying the same thing in a short amount of time is not good.

Burned wire sparks/flames fire

Yikes! Im not sure what happened but one day sparks & burnt inside while reheating leftovers. I'm at a loss how could an appliance suddenly turn into sparks flames and popping crackling danger. connector then the wire melted, Huge fire hazard and could have easily caused a major electrical failure. I followed the product manual for troubleshooting , but still sparks ignited when we turned it on.

Same fire box as everyone else

Well.. wow, I am in there with everyone else this year. Unfortunately mine started sparking and actually started a fire this week inside. Luckily my wife saw it and quickly hit stop!
I am disappointed as my house has all matching GE appliances new in 2017. Now I cannot find a replacement and have no microwave. Boo for this obvious manufacturer defect!
