Great Microwave

Bought this to replace the old under the counter mounted GE but in 1984 I think we got our moneys worth.

Works fine. Butter explodes, but I think that is because of the butter....Have tried several brands, same result.

Prefer my old Spacemaker microwave

This is the third Spacemaker microwave we have owned. We purchased another because we liked the previous ones and they fit in the space available. The previous ones did not have a turntable; in fact the first one had a shelf. Not all microwaveable vessels are round; some are rectangular and are not able to rotate. I was able to put more than one item in the old microwaves; that’s not so easy with a turntable.
The border, including the open button, around the front of the oven is stainless. That looks nice, but always has fingerprints on it. It is impossible to open the door without touching the open button, thus fingerprints! Our old Spacemaker was also the stainless model, but the edge, including the open button, was black and showed fewer finger prints.
A bigger issue is that there is no instruction manual. So far, I am not able to use it in anyway but at full power and only by using the 1-6 buttons which cook 1-6 minutes. Whenever I try to change the power level, I get an incomprehensible message.

It is the perfect size for us. We also purchased separately the outer cover and it all looks terrific. My contractor said it was a little difficult to install but worth it. It makes the perfect finishing touch.

I purchased this microwave after many months of searching for one that would fit our cabinets. We do not use a microwave very often, but have been pleased with its performance to date.

Quiet!

So far, so good. This microwave is much quieter than the older version it replaced. I wonder if that's because it does not have as powerful a venting fan. I notice that the interior steams up just about every time something moist is heated. But, it heats up fine & is the only model that will fit into my space.

Older model was better

Had to purchase this microwave as my older model was no longer being made. The panel (numbers, etc.) is grayed out so it makes it very difficult to see. The older model had white numbers. Also, numbers are harder to push on this panel. It seems I really have to push down on the number in order to get the microwave to start. This is not a very good microwave for seniors. I will look for another brand once this one poops out on me in 10 years.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
