Great features easy to use

This is our third GE Profile microwave. The operating menu of buttons to press is easy navigate and well thought out. This makes it very easy to use with convenient use choices. Caution, don't run it empty

Very quiet operation ... turntable on/off feature helpful... you can use the microwave while using the timer without interrupting the timer. Seems to heat very evenly.

Unnecessary changes to previous model

While I will say this unit runs more quietly than the 12 year old model we replaced there were some unnecessary changes. First it won't mount up with the existing mounting brackets/holes. And secondly they changed the keypad and not for the better. The buttons are somewhat smaller and the graphics on the display are so light that they can only be easily seen in bright light. I read where some people took to using a flashlight to see the keypad which seems rather ridiculous. The configuration of the button controls made more logical sense on the older model as well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Less Well Built GE Profile

This newer model is no where better in terms of construction and performance than the much older GE Profile microwave it replaced. I am constantly disappointed with its shoddy construction and less interior space. Thought the newer model would at least be as good or better than the old one, but no ...

This microwave works with QUIET efficiency. In one feature it is too quiet. The timer only dings once when time is up and it is so quiet that if you are in the next room, or the fan is blowing, kids yelling, you will not hear it. I have burned a couple of things I was cooking on the stove because the microwave timer went off and I did not hear it. Have resorted to the old-fashioned twist timer - very chic!
My other dislike is that the push bar to open the microwave door is quite tight and you really have to push on it. Possibly a safety feature for kids???
Otherwise I like the look and work of the oven.
