All you could want in a microwave

This microwave works extremely well, is easy to operate and looks great in the kitchen. It is a machine which is certainly worth the purchase price.

We bought this to replace our eighteen year old GE Spacesaver We could not be more disappointed. Loud noise during use. Poor door construction, a loud locking mechanism. Cheap unit operates poorly...limited on choice because of custom cabinet built in cut out dimensions

I bought this oven in March of 2016. Lasted 2 years. Because of the space restrictions I had no choice and buy the same one. Let's see how long this lasts.

Replaced Ge Spacemaker II

We had to replace the spacemaker II, however this model was slightly larger, so we had to modify the cabinet that it was built into. Why would they change the dimension? or not offer a replacement of the same size?

Clumsy door with bad placement of keypad buttons

The overall look is fine. The bottom to open the door is harder to engage compared to the Spacemaker II model. It’s just that much bigger so now I can’t open the microwave door all the way because it hits the abutting cabinet. My option to or even this was to have it jut out more which is not acceptable I’m not sure who thought that INCREASING the size of a microwave that’s basically made to be built in was a good idea. I also wonder who thought that putting the “cook time” button amongst the other buttons was a good idea. It’s the primary button that people will use yet it’s not in a logical or natural place on the keypad. The writing ON the keypad buttons is too faint. I hate this thing already and I’ve had it for 10 minutes. It’s too bad that I don’t have another option (from GE or another manufacturer) because I’m not looking forward to having to use this microwave for the next several years.

The previous model was much better

The previous model was much better. The 15 year old MW that we replaced operated better, had better features and cooked much faster. I consider this a downgrade. This was the model that was recommended to replace what I had. Also the dimensions were different so I had to modify the built in opening to accommodate this replacement.

Love the Slate color

This is the perfect color instead of going with stainless like most people nowadays. It’s the perfect microwave for a small space or for a media room as I bought it for. So far it works very well. I love all of my GE appliances.

Replacing a Space saver II series JEM model that I installed in 2000. The unit lasted 18 years. I was very happy with that unit and expect the same satisfaction from the PEM model. Highly recommend this unit.
