First off I'd like to recommend GE add additional options for built-in microwaves. I chose this one because the other one had pretty bad reviews. This is installed over my GE double oven. I also got the trim kit. It's small but working great. I was nervous about the 800 watt but haven't noticed a big difference from my 1100 watt large built in model. Hoping it last.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Replacement built-in microwave

Replacement design no longer made, this was the ONLY option to stay with GE Profile set (oven, cooktop, twin dishwashers). Panel numbers and words are hard to read without a flashlight or a very bright room. Contrast is horrible. Also too small to read. Disappointing but what can you do? I'm still a GE fan.

It fits into the built-in area of our cupboards.

After extensive research, it turns out we only had one choice to fit in the space that is built into the cupboards. Compared to our old Hotpoint microwave (that still worked great, but our kids thought it leaked radiation) this one feels much cheaper. The turntable actually reduces the number of things you can put in at once. And we don't really like the control panel either. We purchased this for one reason and that was that it fit in our space.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Under-Counter Microwave

This is a replacement for one that we purchased 15 years ago!! 15 years and no issues. I'm looking forward to another 15 with my new one. It's a good, easy-to-use microwave with the option of mounting it to the underside of your kitchen cabinets ... opening up counter space. Normally if your microwave is not over-the-range, it's sitting on your counter top taking up space. There's an mounting kit that you will need to buy, but it's worth it.

Good microwave. Works great. However, impossible to use in a dark or dimly lit room. The keypad needs to be illuminated.
