GE Profile Microwave meets my needs

My 14 year old GE microwave broke down and I need a replacement. After researching several manufacturers, I preferred the GE Profile fits perfectly inside the kitchen island. Has the options I need.

Second GE Microwave Purchase

We replaced an old GE microwave with this new one. The new appears to have all of the old features and is laid out just like the old buttons are.

The new trim package design for cabinet installation made the job a breeze compared to the old design. Took all of 20 minutes and looks fantastic.

Right Size

We bought a similar GE product some 19 years ago and it kept working all these years. All our kitchen cabinets were organized to include this under cabinet mount microwave. In trying to find a replacement only GE made anything that would fit again. Only time will tell if it will have the durability and trouble free product of 20 years ago. So far it is more powerful and the turn table helps cook/defrost more evenly than the previous.

Fits perfectly in our space!

This GE Spacemaker fits perfectly on a narrow shelf or countertop. It gives you more counterspace than any other microwave on the market. The new one is a replacement for the last GE Spacemaker I had which lasted 7 years. It fits well in the space I have even though it is a bit taller than the other one. It works well and the choices of buttons is great. My only complaint is that it costs more than any other stand alone microwave I saw, and more than many of the over the stove models.

Great in- cabinet fitment

I chose this product due to the shallow depth, and other dimensions. I was worried that this microwave would not have the power I required but I was totally wrong. I spent weeks looking for the right microwave to fit into my new RTA kitchen cabinets. There is a company in the LA area that manufacturers the trim pieces to get that built-in look. I've attached a photo have the finished product.

Cheaply made

The light bulb burned just after two years. Where my old GE microwave I bought twenty four (24) years ago, the original bulb is still going strong!

Hard to see the panel

I was replacing with the similar model but this one is almost impossible to read the control panel. It is very dark and needs to be back lit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
