Love this microwave

After many years our microwave finally bit the dust. As we had no problems with the microwave until it died, we wanted the same one. We had to do a bit of searching but finally located the same model to replace it with.

GE Profile PCM 31SFSS

It's operation and menu are great. However the control panel is difficult to read without an overhead lamp. The panel buttons are black with light gray characters/words. The GE microwave I replaced had the opposite color of the buttons; White with Black characters/words. Much better contrast and easy to read without additional room lighting.
I would recommend this to a friend!

SO DISAPPOINTED WITH GE

Have just purchased our 4th GE microwave of this 'spacesaver' size, and are so upset that the controls are not lit and are impossible to read without shining a light on them. Also as others have mentioned the door is extremely loud. Both of these issues are readily obvious......shame on GE! An apology solves nothing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Upgraded kitchen appliances

Recently remodeled my kitchen and I wanted stainless steel appliances. I purchased the GE profile to replace another GE microwave I had for 20 years. Stuck with GE because my previous experience was positive. Things seem to take a little longer in my new microwave to heat which is not a deal breaker. I’m giving this 4 stars because the button you push to open seems stiff and when it opens it does so with gusto.
I would recommend this to a friend!
