We replaced a 1997 GE microwave with this model and it is fine for what we use it for which is heating up coffee and leftovers and microwaving popcorn. I will say it is much stronger than our former microwave, so much so that I tried to dry basil the first day I had it and basically incinerated the basil!!! Still getting used to the more powerful machine after 15 years with an old machine. A word to everyone, be careful and proceed with caution..new appliances are much stronger than what you may be used to. Good product for the price and the compact size was exactly what we needed for the space. I do think the buttons are a bit hard to read...didn't have that problem on my old model. Also, the light inside could be a bit brighter...maybe two bulbs instead of one? We're satisfied with our purchase though and trust GE Profile products with past positive experiences.

Adequate functions

Mainly for food heating use. So far no mechanical issues. Very clanky when opening and closing the door; actually, can’t use it when family is asleep. But it is the only size that fits my cabinet. This unit was number 3. The first 2 arrived damaged one with dents the other had a door that did not close properly.

Microwave trips house circuit breaker

After only 2 years of use the microwave blows the house circuit breaker every time it's used. Probably not worth fixing? Very disappointed!

Oh no! We're terribly sorry to hear that your microwave is tripping your circuit breaker. We can certainly understand how concerning that is. If the microwave trips the house fuse or breaker:
Be certain the microwave is on its own dedicated circuit.
Reset the breaker or replace the household fuse and try the microwave one more time.
If the breaker trips off again, unplug the microwave and contact service.

Compact microwave

This is our second GE Profile (same model) after our first one give up the ghost after 20+years. It may be smaller than most microwaves but it meets all of our cooking and warming needs. We have it mounted in a cabinet at eye height which saves valuable counter space and keeps it in the center of our kitchen activities
