Replacement of a similar unit that lasted 20 years

Always worked. The unit has a fuse inside and occasionally needs to be replaced the unit is not dead. If you are handy and don't throw it away

OPENING THE DOOR IS TOO DIFFICULT

I expected that this model would be practically the same as my last GE microwave (current model #PEM31DFWW) which was white . It seemed the only significant difference was the color: this one is black, my old one was white. However, when I first used my new one I realized it was made of different materials, and due to arthritis in my hands it was very difficult to impossible for me to open. The button is wobbly and must be pushed very hard, unlike on my last one. As a result, I barely use this microwave, and it's probably too late to return it. Such a waste of money for something poorly designed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Small but powerful

This is my 2nd GE profile micro wave. First one lasted 15 years. It was great. This one is very similar and I also ordered the kit to fit around it. I love it!!!

Love this microwave! It fit perfectly in our wall cabinet and looks and works great! Our first one lasted seven years so we bought the same model again.
