Good micrwave

The micro appears to heat well, although the time required is a little longer due to the 800 watts. Disappointing that there is nothing to hold the turntable to prevent it from wobbling. The previous microwave had a ring beneath the turntable which kept it steady. There seems to be wasted space inside.

Mounting Screws Strip Out Easily

This shallow depth GE Microwave Oven fits perfectly in an upper kitchen cabinet. The only issue with our mounting system is that we use the four threaded metal plates in the upper surface of the sheet metal cabinet. The 10-32 thread strips out very easily !! I suggest maybe 10-24 threaded inserts, for better holding power and less tendency to strip out.

Great features and options

I checked out countertop microwaves across all the brands. I wanted white, also. This one has the dimensions to put in a large rectangle or square dish AND the only one I found with the function to turn off/on the turntable. That was the clincher for me. I like the setback profile so that there is counter space in front.

This replaces a very close replica of one that failed after 15 years of service. Closing the door is a tinnier sound. Buttons in different arrangement. Works great though, just like the one that failed.

Hanging kit makes it better than the competition

We've only had the unit a few weeks, but it seems to be working well. The biggest draw to this unit was the ability to hang it under a cabinet. The cabinet hanging kit made the sale. One thing about these GE microwaves that I would like to see different is some kind of back-lit keypad. For an old man like me it is tough to see what button you're pushing unless under bright light!

Bought this unit to replace our older one that died. The older model is no longer available, which is a shame as this one is inferior. The trim for in the counter is cheap plastic and the screw mounting holes are visible. Additionally the control panel is different with the buttons moved around
