Fail. This product fails.

The only reason I buy this microwave (my 3rd time) is because its profile fits in a limited space I have in my kitchen. This is not an inexpensive model. Seems at the cost, I would be better to remodel my kitchen and buy a different brand.

Door slams loudly!

This is the only microwave that has dimensions to replace an older GE Profile microwave I've had for 12 years before it broke. The cutout in the cabinetry was already set and could not be altered so I really had no other choice but to replace with this new model microwave. I am taking away two stars because, for one thing, the door makes a very loud slamming noise each time it is shut, and there is just no way to close it softly. I cringe each time I close the door. It should have been designed with some sound bumpers or something. Secondly, the control panel is not very intuitive. The buttons for setting the power level and starting the cook cycle and such are a bit confusing. I do like the the "add 30 seconds" feature though. Other than that, it works fine.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

nice looking design

This microwave is the model that replaced the pem31sm4ss countertop microwave. It has a little more space, which I like better, but it is also bigger, which caused me to have to cut the cabinet to fit it in. Also, the keypad is not as readable as the previous model. I like the sleeker design better tho.

We purchased this oven with our total kitchen remodel so that we could have more counter space. Well a month later we put the old micro-wave back on the new counter top because we are not pleased with the heating capabilities of the new GE model.

plugged it in and it didn't heat

Plugged it in and it didn't heat on any setting. Frustrating to say the least as it was replacing a 7 year old GE microwave that just broke too. Customer servicer is sending out repair next week so I'll update once we see how that goes.
