Quiet operation

The unit runs well and is very quiet. Door opening button is fairly hard to push; requires finger strength. Do not like the set up of the touch panel. The location of the cook button in the middle of the options display is awkward; Would be much easier to maneuver if it was placed at either the top or bottom of this column. Easy to confuse it with the Timer On/Off button directly above it. More thoughtful placement of the display buttons would make this unit more user friendly. Door close is very loud.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very unreliable

The microwave stopped heating within a month of getting it. It has very little usage in a small office. Maybe used 4 times per week to heat up soup, leftovers. Had a warranty repair. Now about a year later, after no use during COVID, it’s not heating again. It runs, fan and lights on, but no heat is generated. Will buy something else. Disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

GE microwave PEM31SFSS

Looks nice….door closes loudly. About 8 months using this unit and already having issues with the door switch. Internal fan/light come on as soon as you close the door. I have to open/close the door several times to get the fan/light to go off. The microwave does not operate when the fan/light come on so you must open/close the door to reset the switch. Probably means I’ll be repairing/replacing this unit soon.

Not comparable to its predecessor!!

This microwave pretty much sucks compared to its predecessor (PEM31DM4BB)! The buttons are harder to push (you have to be very deliberate and directly over the center of pad), the door feels clunky, cheap and is VERY loud when it's shut. The button to open the door is flimsy. The logo is not centered on the door, instead it's centered on the microwave and is awkwardly noticeable. The glass tray in smaller - even though my larger one fits and rotates without any issues. The door has a piece of plastic that protrudes for some strange reason which I'm sure will break soon! Basically everything about this microwave looks and feels like a cheaper manufacturer. The buttons are also placed in an odd configuration compared to my previous microwave (not intuitive) - especially the 30 sec option.
It's seriously like they took a great microwave and made it really crappy.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi,

Thanks for your review. Sorry to hear about the issues that you've had with the Cook Time function. We can understand how that'd be frustrating.

When you press the Cook Time pad, you will then use the number pads to input the amount of time that you'd like for the microwave to cook. Then you would press Start. The microwave would then begin warming the food inside.
