Love this microwave size! But...

I have purchased this same microwave in the past. It is built into the cabinetry, so I'm limited to those dimensions. I've always found that the 1.1cuft to be the perfect size (it easily fits a 2qt baking dish with a lid). It has sufficient power and the programmed cooked times work very well. My only complaint is related to obvious cost reductions. The GE badge on the front is undersized, so you can see the holes where it fits into the panel. Also, the door won't open unless you hit the latch button with just the right force. Neither of these things is a deal breaker, but hopefully the cost cutting doesn't affect other areas of operation or the life of unit.
I would recommend this to a friend!

OK replacement for PEM31SS; not the best

This is a replacement for PEM31SS that lasted 10 years. Unfortunately, PEM 31SF4SS is 1/8 inch wider and it took me 6 hours to widen my built-in cabinet. It is quieter. But takes 25 to 50 percent longer to cook.

We value this feedback. The countertop microwave built-in trim kits require a specific size cut-out opening in the cabinet. It is important to check the required cut-out dimensions for the trim kit in the installation instructions. Your comments regarding the cook time is important to us and will be considered by our product design team for review.

Great appliance that was easy to install. We updated our GE microwave that was 15 years old and very happy they still make a similar model.

Streamlined design

GE Profile is a great choice for a microwave because of all the features it has and how it works so well to heat and defrost food. My only issue is that the key pad is black and not backlit. I cannot see the keys very well. Wish the company considers adding that as an on-off feature. Probably bought this because my previous one lasted 10 years.

Another great GE product

Due to the cabinet restrictions, at first finding a replacement for our 15 year old GE Profile microwave was difficult. Came across this GE product and it fit perfectly with little modification. Attaching to the existing upper cabinet with the same hardware was a snap. Microwave works great and very happy.

Only size that fits space

Product was bought mainly for size as it is only model that fits in space, replacing a
former GE microwave. Love how quiet it is. Complaints: door loud when closing and
"open" button is a bit sticky, interior light not very bright. Design is handsome.

This microwave oven defrosts, heats and reheats well. It was purchased 1/8/2014 and as of 3/25/ 2014 there have been no problems.
