Excellent Protection

The commuter case protected my galaxy note 3 when it fell face down while I was getting out of the car. Because of the raised rubber lip my screen was saved. Overall, the commuter case provides excellent protection.
Pros: High quality, Durable, new colors

After spending hours on forums , youtube etc seraching for the most protective case I finally found it. When it comes to mobile phone cases, protection comes always first but this one looks gorgeous too.

I find the Commuter case for my Note 3 well-made and classy looking. It provides a perfect grip, and a solid protection.
In fact, shortly after installing mine on my Note, I experienced it's greatest strength, AND weakness.
I dropped the Note in a big-box store parking lot from about chest height. The Note was fine, nary a scratch. But, unbeknownst to me, the S-Pen came out in the process. When I noticed it missing later, I returned to find it had been run over and ruined.
Personally, I would love to see a flap that covers the pen slot.
Otherwise, I'm very pleased with the case.

Purchased for my wife who is a home health professional, the commuter case is a good compromise to having the protection of the Otterbox, without the bulk of the Otterbox Defender. Initially she was using another product until the Commuter came in. Just shortly after installing the Commuter she suffered a drop without incident. She states that had she been using the other, lesser cover, there would have been damage.

Cons: no dedicated lanyard holes

This is my 2nd Otterbox case. The first was a Defender model - I now have a Commuter case. Both felt or feel indestructible and very well made. The Defender was bulky and more than I needed. It's only advantage over my current Commuter was that it's outer layer was more grippy and felt more secure in my hand. The hand grips on the Commuter are textured but are of a harder material and consequently, feels like it could slide out of my hand. Great for sliding into a pocket but not so great if it drops . . . I still like it a lot though!
Pros: High quality, Durable, attractive
Cons: a little too slippery

I have owned an Otter Box product through many Apple products and now a Samsung product and they are all fantastic. As a contractor if my phones and iPad were not protected by Otter Box products they would last a very short time.

I put an OtterBox on almost every electronic device I own. I recently purchased a Note 3, and wouldn't touch the phone until I put a Box on it. I think this particular design is perfect. It doesn't add much bulk which is great since the Note is quite large already. The buttons are firm, yet easy to use. The flaps covering ports are strong and easy to use... Of all the OtterBox cases I've had, I feel this particular one is the best. I can tell the quality and design are only getting better! I will continue to buy these cases forever! :)

It's all about the grip

The Commuter case fits the Note 3 well. Side buttons work well. The hard plastic outer shell provides a poor grip because it is way too slippery. Guess I was used to the grip of the Defender case on my previous phone. Going to search for some adhesive tape to put on the sides to improve the hold. Case designers should have put slots on the side of the case that allowed some of the silicone inner shell to protrude through for better grip.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
