I bought my FoodSaver V3835 in June 2009. I would give it 10 stars if I could. I have never had any trouble with or while using my FoodSaver. It has worked perfectly since the day I bought it. Plus it looks ever so pretty sitting on my counter right next to my black and stainless stove. I love it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Do Not Buy, Not Worth Your Money!!!

I buy meats usually in bulk and separate them down into smaller sizes and I would end up wasting money with just regular zip loc bags, my mother in law told me about food saver and just bragged on and on about hers. I purchased this one and it was a 100% waste of my money. It over heats consatantly making it where you have to constantly turn it off and let it rest for 10 to 20 minutes depending on how long you have been using it. It does not vacuum out all of the airand it will not seal anything moist like meat just purchased or vergetables. I have wasted more money now because these bags/rolls are more expensive then zip loc and i have still had to throw out food that has freezer burned. Save yourself lots of aggravation and money and leave this one at the store.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This product looks nice and is fairly easy to use.

In the beginnig this product worked perfectly. I have use it for the past 4 weekends. Last weekend it began to suck out only about half of the air from the bags, sometimes it would not perform the vaccum process at all. I had to continually shut off the device and restart the process several times to complete the sealing of the bags. While doing this the sealing process would begin and I had to start over with new bags. This is not very cost effective.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I'm not crazy about this model. Maybe I got a lemon, but the sucking power is not as strong as I've had in previous models, and, it takes longer between seals. Not sure I'd recommend it if you're doing more than one or two at a time.

Love/Hate relationship.

Loved it at first, bought almost every attachment and bag size. So many issues have come up: moisture light that stays on (my error, I admit), zipper adapter issues, now, after cleaning the food tray can't get it open to replace. I was going to purchase a unit for all three kids, but now, with so many problems, having second thoughts. Customer service seems to have the solutions (guess they get a lot of practice).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought my first FoodSaver machine abt 8 yrs ago and declared to my husband that unless I have a Foodsaver in operation, I would not bother to put up garden food for our freezer. I just rec'd my new one, the V3835 and love it. The machine itself senses when to vacuum and when to shut off, very easy operation. It's wonderful , also, to have the roll stored in the machine with a handy cutter. I have not used the hose for containers yet , trust it will serve the purpose . Thank you , FoodSaver , for continuing to offer such machines !
