So quiet! Beautifully clean dishes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this dishwasher for about one month. So the best thing and the worst thing about this dishwasher is how quiet it is! What I mean is that when I first started using this dishwasher, I loaded it and started it and was very impressed with how quiet it was...only there is a time limit on starting this particular model (meaning that after pushing "start" you must close it immediately) so it wasn't actually washing. After making this mistake a couple of times and thinking I had gotten another garbage dishwasher by a different manufacturer, I then learned the secret. Now I can successfully start my dishwasher and it is still soooo quiet! The dishes get beautifully clean and I am completely happy with this purchase. I would highly recommend this dishwasher to anyone who is looking for a very quiet dishwasher.

Not Made for US dishes and does not clean dishes.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The dishes don’t fit very well. I found out the racks are sized for Europe dishes which are smaller. We can’t get near as many dishes in it as the US dishwasher we replaced (Maytag). Also, it does not clean very well. This dishwasher was rated in Consumer Reports at 5/5 for reliability, washing, & energy use. It was rated 4/5 for drying. The instructions say to scrape food and do not rinse. We have dirty dishes every time. We are very disappointed with this product. We complained to Bosch within the first month, but they didn't have a repairman come until the first month was up. We would like to return it, but we are unable to because of the first month time limit. We have lost our confidence in Consumer Reports and in Bosch.

I hate this dishwasher

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always heard great things about Bosch. The builder put one in our new house and I was excited. But after actually using it, I only have one good thing to say- it's quiet. Otherwise, my dishes aren't clean and they don't dry. So I end up having to hand wash amd hand dry my dishes. What's the point of having a dishwasher? Not a good product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Our Bosch Dishwasher

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have been very pleased with our Bosch Dishwasher. Dishes and flatware come out clean and shiney. We find the dishes easy to load. Controls are easy to understand. We hardly hear it when it runs. We were disappointed we did not have a red light on the bottom indicating when cycles were finished. Friends who recommended said this was one of their favorite features. This was the only model available at our store so we're never offered a choice of another Bosch. It wasn't until we ran it the first time we noticed lack of the red light. Other than lack of red light, we love our Bosch Dishwasher.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Stopped working within 15 months

I bought this product based off of the company's well known reputation for reliable products however I haven't even had this dishwasher for a year and a half and the motor has already stopped working. I am incredibly disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Ascenta not as good as Integra

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a the Bosch Integra 500 Series model SHX46A05UC for 15 years and have replaced it with the Ascenta. I must say, the Integra’s features are better conceived. (1) Top rack on Integra had a fold down cup shelf. It was easy to place small cups on the rack and then fold the cup shelf down over them, giving that addition space for other small items. The Ascenta does it all wrong - the cup shelf must be folded up to use. But this means that any items placed on the floor of the upper rack (the area that would be beneath the shelf when the shelf is up), block the cup shelf from being folded up into place. If the cup shelf is already folded up into place, the shelf interferes with access to the space below it and items have to be wriggled about to fit beneath. Bad design. (2) On the bottom rack , the rungs are organized such that, when dishes are loaded along the back and on one of the two side rows, the second side row is very narrow. Only very small bowls and dishes can fit. Sometimes I must resort to filling the space with mugs which do not sit very well over the rungs. (3)The silverware basket is very generous - too generous. Waste of space. Also, with my former Integra dishwasher, there where two small areas in the silverware basket where the grid could be lifted. This allowed for placement of very small items like jelly jar lids, corn cod holders, etc to be secured without having to remove any silverware to do so. The Ascenta provides an all or nothing solution: the entire grid lifts. Bad design. (4) The Ascenta's bottom rack has a tendency to come off the track when being pulled out. The rack is heavy when loaded - not so easy to get back on track! This would create a problem for children and older adults with arthritis. For me, I can manage it. However, this never happened in the 15 years I owned the Integra. (5) Lastly, I do think the dishes get wonderfully clean with the Ascenta, but the features could be better - and obviously have been better in past models.
