Pretty good dishwasher

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Machine is quiet and gets our dishes clean. It's hard to stack stuff in this dishwasher than it was our Maytag. The regular cycle takes a long time, despite it not including drying. I'm hoping, however, this dishwasher will last longer than 6 years. I would buy again.

Came to me damaged

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love Bosch appliances. This unit is one of the cheapest Bosch makes. The plastic pan was cracked from the unit being dropped on a corner.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Top Performance at a Great Price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dishwasher does a terrific job of washing your dishes very effectively while being extremely quiet. At first, we were concerned that it had no heating element (no Bosch dishwashers do), hence no heated dry capability, but if you use the recommended rinse agent, the dishes dry quickly, while using way less energy - even on the short (30 minute) wash cycle. As rated by the top consumer publication, it is not only "recommended", but also it truly is a "Best Buy".

So Far So Good

There was a funky plastic smell when we first used it (not on the clean dishes) eminating from the inside, but that seemed to go away after a few week. On the postitive side, it seems to be able to clean everything we put in it and is very quite. On the negative side, the configuration of the racks is too complicated. It forces you to place dishes in certain locations and is not very flexible. Before you buy this dishwasher I suggest you bring a place setting with you so see how they fit. The silverware holders are the most disappointing. They don't stay in place and don't seem to fit the space properly. We kept ar old one which was sturdier.

Smells

This dishwasher gets a horrible smell. I rinse all the dishes before I put them in. I have cleaned the filters, ran the machine empty with cleaners and reran and changed the drain hose. The smell comes back a week later. The other problem is that deep dishes don't fit in the racks. On a possitive note it is a quiet machine. But I was much happier with my cheaper noisier one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

For any smell, you can try running a vinegar wash: Run an empty cycle, except for a cereal bowl on the upper rack, upright. Inside the bowl, you're going to put 8oz of white distilled vinegar and run the AUTO cycle. Once the cycle finishes, the smell should go away.
