Good machine but not as quiet as hoped

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've only had the machine a few days but this is my third Bosch dishwasher due to moves. The last one lasted 7-1/2 years but had a pump issue and we chose to replace rather than repair. They are generally the quietest machine on the market but I didn't notice that this one had a lower sound rating than my previous machine. It is still quieter than almost all other dishwashers in its price range.
Learning to load the racks is a learning curve. The design is entirely different from the other machines I've owned. Some things about I like much better and others not so much. All in all, it appears at this point to be a good machine for the money. There are several Bosch machines that are more expensive and have some extra perks that this basic machine does not have. For the price, I'm satisfied.

Very Quiet and Pretty

The stainless steel looks good and the machine is quiet and cleans very well, but you have to use the powder packets instead of gel to get the best clean. The interior layout was very different so it took some getting used to. The downsides are the door is kind of light and cheap so it will shut quickly on you, jarring the dishes inside. Also the prongs for the bowls are very close together so you can't line them up very close, losing space.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been researching dishwashers for over a month and I finally decided on the Bosch. It is very quiet. We can hardly tell it's running. There is plenty of room for larger items on the lower shelf and dishes come out spotless. I am very happy about this purchase!!!

quieter than I expected

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this dishwasher to replace a very loud older one in the hope that I could be in the same room and hold a conversation while it was running. I have been very happy with how quiet this model is; the loudest noise coming from it is the water coming in and out of the machine; one has to be right next to it to actually hear any other noise. It does a great job cleaning. The only con I would say it has is that you can't open it right after the cycle is done and have the dishes be cool and dry; easy solution is to not open it for an hour or so after the cycle is complete which is easy enough if you run the machine after dinner in the evening.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I Hate This Dishwasher

I purchased this diswasher less than two weeks ago (date of review: 06/17/2012) and dating to the first use, it's a purchase I deeply regret. I hate this dishwasher. Let me count the ways, from the simply annoying to the outright design/engineering failure. First, it lacks any signal that the cleaning cycle has ended and the dishes inside are clean. The engineers couldn't figure out how to add a little green light to the front panel? Second, the interior has five sets of spiky racks, which are so close to each other that there is inadequate space for saucepans and other larger-than-a-plate dishes. Third, the silverware basket is small and ill fitting. Fourth, the stemware racks are awkward to use and take up too much space. Now for the dealbreaking failure: There is no button to push to unlatch the door so you just pull. In fact, so much force is required to open the spring-loaded door that THE DISHWASHER PULLED OUT OUT OF ITS SPACE. THIS IS AFTER SIX DAYS OF USE. To make things worse, the installation screws (only two) provided were ridiculously small--less than a half-inch long. And of course, the holes where the screws were pulled out of are ruined--impossible to use again, even with a longer screw. And of course, the brackets are permanently installed so we can't move the bracket to a new spot under the counter and use new screws. So yeah. I HATE THIS DISHWASHER.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
