Washes well, but child lock needs improvement

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this washer a month ago when our old one died and the repair would have cost nearly as much as a new washer. It is definitely quieter than our old washer, but not as quiet as other Bosch models that family members own. It cleans well unless there is stuck-on food, like avocado or dried yogurt.The tines are redesigned, but some are still a bit too close for our dishes and bowls to fit in. My biggest disappointment is the child lock feature. This model does not have the hidden controls so the child lock feature is important for us. The child lock can only be turned on once the dishwasher has started a cycle, but after the cycle has finished the child lock automatically disables. So it's fine for preventing a child from interrupting a cycle once it has begun, but if the washer is off it doesn't prevent children from turning it on and starting the dishwasher. Plus the dishwasher is so quiet at the start of the cycle you might not know right away that it had been started.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After a lot of research, deliberation, and looking at many dishwashers of various brands and quality, we landed on this Bosch Ascenta. I was a little worried because I had read several reviews about a strange smell and I wasn't sure what to expect with a dishwasher that didn't have a heating element to dry the dishes. We have had this dishwasher for about a month and I am so pleased. My dishes are spotless. Time and water is cut significantly since we are no longer pre-rinsing before putting the dirty dishes in. I was skeptical, but my dishes have never been cleaner. I highly recommend this dishwasher.

First Rate Performance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I replaced my worn out, old dishwasher recently and did the install myself. This new Bosch unit was very easy to install with its clearly written instructions and the installation kit contained all the parts I needed. It performs far better than my old unit did on its best days and is so much quieter that I really had to listen closely to tell if it was running at all. I love the design of the racks and their ability to adjust including the height adjust feature of the top rack.

Love, love, love this dishwasher!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I never thought that I would love a dishwasher, but I certainly love this one. We recently purchased new kitchen appliances and this appliance is my favorite of all of them.
First and foremost, I really, really, love how quiet this dishwasher is. Sometimes we need to wash two loads a day with our busy family - and when I work from home - I need a quiet environment to participate on conference calls with my business associates. Because of it low noise volume, I can run the machine during my work day without distraction on my business calls.
The reason that we selected this machine is that it has a sanitize option, which brings the water temperature up high so that the water evaporates from the dishes which produces dry dishes. As we typically run two loads a day (from preference not necessity-husband hates unloading a packed dishwasher), we like to have the dishes dry when we are ready to unload the machine.
Another feature, I enjoy is how the length of each cycle is displayed so that you can anticipate when your load will be done before your next meal. I also like the ability to turn the machine off, so that the digital display is not always on like microwaves and ovens.
Lastly, I like the look and texture to the rack. The racks easily glide along the tracks and I enjoy using the the flaps on the upper track to keep plastic cups from moving around (folds down on top of them). These flaps can also hold wine glasses with stems.
All and all, this is a very nice dishwasher, that is extremely quiet and very sharp looking as well. I highly recommended buying this product! You won't regret it!
