What's great about it: Good wattage, all necessary connectors, long-lasting
What's not so great: Nothing really
I've used this for a couple years, and it's done well. Runs a Phenom quad-core gaming computer effectively.
After a couple years, it is now making a grinding sound, but it does not seem to interfere with its function. I will be purchasing another, and I recommend that you purchase one too. Good value, good quality, decent life.

What's great about it: Easy to install and excellent price.
What's not so great: I had to use bread ties to keep the extra cords out of the video card fan.
I got this power supply for around $55.00. Big upgrade over my 400W that died. Very easy to set up an install. The extra cords were the only thing that I had an issue with. A great value.

I bought this Dynex power supply to upgrade a PC that I was installing a new video card on. The video card is a NVIDIA - GeForce GTX 550 Ti and required a 400W power supply according to the Best Buy website. I purchased this Dynex 520 watt power supply and thought that should be fine.
Upon installation of the power supply and video card, anytime the video would start working hard the computer would crash and go into a safe mode. The power supply just couldn't handle it. After further review of the video card's requirements I realized it could run on 400 watts but needed much more amperage. The Dynex was not up to the task. Not that there was anything wrong with the Dynex, it just didn't have the amperage I needed. That said, not many power supplies do. I had to step up and buy a Thermaltake SMART Series 850-Watt ATX Power Supply to get the amperage I needed.
So the Dynex is a fine power supply. Just be sure you check your amperage requirements as well as the wattage requirements. The amperage specification isn't mentioned very often in product descriptions or specification requirements. Check with the manufacturer of your components for the exact requirements before buying a power supply. I figured it out after reading the specs on the Nvidia box. The amperage requirement was not published on the Best Buy website where I purchased the video card.

this unit has the features I find are needed by most computers. cables are suffient length and good variety of end connectors for both old and newer drives. wattage is satisfactory for most computers cooling fan should have no problem with heat load

You can get cheaper power supplies elsewhere, but if you need a high quality one in a pinch (as I did) this will fit the bill. It's very quiet, well designed and does the job.

While there are plenty of connections for every device, the fan should be located on the bottom side, not the top. Being the airflow is drawn in, and the power supply is located at the top of the tower, the casing doesn't allow a clear opening for air. I had to leave the top off the tower case. The fan is powerful, yet fairly quiet. The wires are encased. It has more wattage than I'll need. And, it is much bigger than side mounted fans. The price is reasonable. I was glad to be able to pick it up at a store instead of waiting for shipping.
All in all, a great power supply.

Easy install, all of the connectors I needed for my specific needs. I was worried it was going to be loud, because it's much larger than the standard power supply that came with my HP Pavilion. But I can barely here it. In fact, I hear the fan on my graphics card more than the power supply.

What's not so great: Short cables, nonstandard plugs
Cables are way too short, even for a mid-sized case. I had to rearrange all my drives to connect them, and even then it was a stretch. SATA plugs require a lot of force to connect to HDDs. The particular PSU that I got failed to power up at all.

In order for me to use the AMD Radeon HD 6670 on my computer, I needed a stronger power supply. I was originally going to buy the 400W Dynex, but decided on the larger one for safety.
The cables were straightforward, easy to install, and the CPS fit perfectly in my computer. Pretty much enough said, and it is quiet too!

I just put this Power Supply Unit (PSU) in my Asus CM-6730-04 to replace a 300 watt PSU. This is the first time I ve replace a PSU and all you really have to do is unplug and re-plug. I notice it has lots of extra connection just in case you need to get some add ons. I got this PSU because I will be add a 1 GB GDDR5 to my PC, so I need the extra juice. It also comes with a great ventilation fan to keep it cool. The notice level...wait, I could barley hear it. Yeah, its really quite. (Just a plus)
Oh, when reconnecting the cords to the motherboard the PSU comes with a 20 pin connection for older CPUs and an additional 4 pin connection that would be placed right next to the 20 pin for newer PCs.

What's not so great: Nothing I got it when it was on sale but even now it is a good deal.
This is the first time I have ever messed with a power supply it was fast, easy, affordable, and POWERFUL!!!! Sorry but I can not get over what some extra wattage does for your computer. It made my system run smooth as silk, never bogs because of lack of power. I am running 2 Blu-ray drives, a 2.5 TB Raid setup for hard drive, never bogs. If you do anything, try this first and I only buy from BESTBUY.
