My Second Bosch

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My last Bosch dishwasher lasted 15 years, so I wanted to replace with a Bosch. This Ascenta was mid-range price and has the basic cycles that I need. I'm very happy with it. It is so quiet that at first I checked to see if it was running. Easy to use front panel and does a great job on even the dirtiest dishes.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Super clean dishes!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Finally a dishwasher that cleans even dried on dishes! I actually enjoy unloading because everything is so clean. I have had a couple dishes have some speckled residue, but I had let the rinse aid run out, so I am guessing that is the reason. You can load a ton of plates. I haven't really mastered how to maximize the loading of my fiesta soup bowls. I usually have to lay them flat upside down and they seem to take up too much of my loading space, so not thrilled with that aspect. I wish the bottom rack had more adjustable tines so I can load bowls more easily down there. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase! I was worried about the condensation drying method, but it has been good. Love being able to put plastics anywhere.

Great machine

This was the least expensive Bosch I could find for her but, because I've had wonderful experiences with the brand, I was determined to get her a Bosch if I could. SO glad I did. It's a great machine, quiet and efficient.

So quiet, so efficient!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What a difference this little dishwasher has made. Pros: quiet, efficient, easy to operate. Cons: does not hold as many dishes, (but they come out much cleaner than before); a little harder to load (but again cleans better this way); top-shelf a little trickier to load (but more efficient and cleaner if done with forethought and dishes not just thrown in any which way). All in all, a much more pleasant way to organize and think about your dishes.

Not what I expected

I had to purchase a dishwasher since my last one had died.We were in the middle of Covid. I went to Consumer Reports and found that the Bosch was rated highly. Called Home Depot and Lowes. Neither had one in stock and I would have to order online, sight unseen. I've never really had problems with appliances I've ordered in the past. Not so in this case.
I found that this brand is about 2" shallower front to back. Less space to load it.
The tines to hold dishes are closer together which creates issues with things like small cafeteria trays and thick plates.
There is minimal room for things like cereal dishes and soup plates. The tines go in different directions. Some are about 3/4" apart,some appear to be 1" apart. Then, the tines are also slanted instead of being upright. Very difficult to stand something up in the bottom rack like a pitcher or a small cooking pot that is too tall for the upper rack.
Minimal room to place things like insulated metal tumblers. You can fit about 5 of them on the top left rack. The rest of the top rack won't take them as the 30 oz tumblers are too big to fit between the tines.
I get about 60% of the dishes, pots & pans, etc. in this dishwasher as I did in my late Kenmore Platinum Elite. Very frustrating to say the least.
There is space for only 1 DW pod such as Cascade. I've always used 2 dispensers for the detergent so now I throw one in the bottom and put the other one in the dispenser. This machine does not like the fact that I don't use Finish. Tough! I don't like the product and am not spending extra money on it. Can't turn off the lights telling you that you are out of it.
In an attempt to get rid of it, I offered this machine to a friend for free and she declined it and kept her 21 yr old DW.
I do have to say that it cleans the few dishes I can load in there quite well. But I need my DW to do more than just dishes. I want it to clean my Tupperware (just try to get a Fix 'n Mix bowl in there with any other stuff.), my pressure cooker, the insert from my slow cooker, metal vents for the HVAC system and the grills/inserts from my Jenn-Air range after grilling not to mention knick knacks. Plus, I want it to sterilize my Mason jars for canning season . . . very difficult with those slanted tines and regular mouth canning jars.
I've had 3 prior DW: Kitchenaid top loader, a Magtag that lasted 23 years, and my Kenmore. Each of those DW were great. Purchases were based on Consumer Reports and sale prices.
I am seriously thinking about putting this on Marketplace and buying a different brand. I will never buy a Bosch appliance again. I suspect this is a case of too many engineers involved and not enough housewives.

Outstanding cleaning, poor rack design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The SHE3AR76UC super-cleans everything you can jam into it. Even the "residue" water on the tops of coffee mugs is crystal-clear. Unfortunately, the design of both top and bottom racks is unimaginative and ineffecient. Our old 2006 Whirlpool was vastly better and as such could hold a lot more. The Bosch has too many tines in some places, not enough in others, and the tines interfere with each other. Often, you have a choice of either washing some large items, or medium- or small-sized items, but not both. What it means is that we run the dishwasher quite a bit more frequently than we did the Whirlpool, and often it isn't full because we can't fit the remaining items into the remaining space, which is often considerable. The Whirlpool could hold much more, including items of any size, and so we ran it less frequently.
