Love my new dishwasher!

New dishwasher

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this dishwasher so far. It's been about 3 months, and we've had no issues. It's very quiet and cleans everything well. We recently moved into this house where they put the floor in around the previous dishwasher, but the design of this one made it very easy to install in spite of the flooring. I would buy another Bosch dishwasher based on this one.

So much quieter than my old dishwasher

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 17-year-old dishwasher finally reached the end of its life, and after much research I settled on this Bosch. I didn't want to spend too much, since appliances don't have the longevity that they used to have. I'm very pleased with how quiet it is. My husband is sensitive to sounds, but with this dishwasher I can run it any time of day or night. Although it doesn't dry as well as one with a heating element, we live in Utah and if I open the door at the end of the cycle and leave it for a bit, the water evaporates off. That could be an issue in a more humid climate. I don't really like the dish and silverware racks. A little flimsy, and except for the plates, my dishes don't fit that well. I don't like it that large handled items don't fit in the cutlery rack. But I'm adjusting. All in all, I'm reasonably content with the purchase.

Fantastic after fixing bad installation

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After using a Whirlpool for the last 15 years, we upgraded our dishwasher to the Bosch Ascenta. What a difference! We used to start loads when we left the house because the washer was so loud. Now we can carry on conversations while standing next to the washer AND without raising our voices. Such a small thing, but soooo nice. Also, after 3 or 4 months of use, the filter kept clogging, leaving the dishes with a faint, unpleasant odor. I had to clean the filter every other week to prevent drainage and odor problems. Then, when I was working on another problem in the kitchen, I discovered that the installers had not replaced the old drainage hose, but clamped the new one onto the old one. AS a result of the improper installation, the old hose had kinked, causing the drainage, filter, and odor problems. It's been 2 months since I fixed the installation with a primary connection between the Bosch-provided drainage hose and the drain pipe, and I haven't needed to clean the filter once; everything comes out sparkling clean, smelling fresh, and without any prewash, prerinse, or yelling over the noise.
