[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] During the pandemic, my 20 plus year old GE PROFILE dishwasher started acting up, not wanting to go onto a store, we ordered a BOSCH ASCENTA, waited 6 weeks for it to be delivered and after installation it worked maybe 4 weeks!
I had heard from appliance repairmen that Bosch was the best-I AM NOT IMPRESSED- still waiting for an authorized repairman!
I would take my GE back any day!

Tub designed to fail

While this model is no longer available, I'd like to share my experience with Bosch and potential buyers of their entry level dishwashers. This dishwasher attaches a steel surround to a plastic base. Connecting two different materials under thermal extremes is always a challenge - and generally a bad idea. Here, they fail miserably.
Because the polypropylene base is soon distorted by the heat of the high conductivity steel, it warped and lost its seal, which consists of just a small tubular gasket. You can see this in my photos. Consequently the tub fills with water and leaked profusingly, causing damage to my home. Bosch warrants the tub for lifetime against rust, but because it is the plastic portion that fails there is no rust. They have stated there is only a one-year warranty.
I have been a Bosch consumer in many capacities - including appliance, auto, and motorcycle parts. The hybrid nature of this tub is a poor engineering concept, destined to leak. In addition, I am able to fix almost any appliance, but the plastic base and gasket are not available from Bosch, making this massive leak from the rear base a catatrophic failure. I am very disappointed in one of my favorite companies.
