Just purchased & the pic is unbelievable clear, vivid with color, and the clarity/sharpness of the pic is outstanding!! I believe that the Sony TV's are by far the best on the market!!

Nice TV
on May 18, 2015

My only complaint so far is the difficultly finding the optional touchpad remote. The one listed in the manual seems to be impossible to purchase. The reason this is kind of a big deal is because one of the great features of Antroid TV is the voice search ability. Without the remote RMF-TX100U there is no way to voice search. Also navigation is a little clunky with the standard remote. I tried calling sony support to find out about purchasing the remote but the rep I talked to did not seem to be familiar with this model remote or TV... Telling me that the remote can only be purchased in Canada, I thought that was odd because I bought the TV in the US and the specific model remote is referenced in the manual (page 22us), she did however offer to sell me the wrong remote with free shipping. If anyone from Sony reads this and can sell me that remote this would be a five star rating

Very confusing for 3d
on May 27, 2015

This is a nice TV, yet the one feature we purchased this for is very difficult to understand. We want to play our 3d videos, using our blu-Ray, that has 3d. Yet, with our, purchased active glasses, we cannot figure out how to do this. Very limited instructions cause much dispare and frustration. I will have to, once again, call Sony for help.

great TV, still some bugs
on May 8, 2015

I just got the TV today and the design is impeccable, and the picture quality is great. However, I'm having a slight issue where I can't connect my sound bar to the TV via an HDMI cable (this worked just fine on an older Sony). Also, there are some settings screens were pressing the "back" button on the TV does not take you back to the program you're watching -- you have to manually select an input button to leave the Home screen.
Overall, I think it's a great TV, but it does appear that the Android software has some bugs that have to be worked out.

Hello Khoa! Thank you for sharing your feedback with us, we would like to recommend to try the steps available through the following link to connect your sound bar through the HDMI port and set the Audio Return Channel (ARC):
I'm not too tech oriented-I don't even have one of those mobile phones so bare with me. I was almost afraid to take it out of the box and boy was it packed well-high density foam all around. I had already set up a swivel base for the tv to sit on over the home theater and up she went, not to heavy, hooked up the ant. , plugged it in , turned it on and just followed the on screen setup for wifi and channel tuning. When they say smart I have to agree because it pretty much set itself up. You have to know who your service providers are and passwords but thats about it. My only beef is with the owners manual. My home theater is an older Technics receiver and sans HDMI and to me the manual could be a bit more explicit in that area. As I said in the beginning I'm not very techy but after talking with customer support I got everything hooked up and didn't blow up anything. The picture, to me , is stunningly beautiful and I haven't fiddled with it at all-when I get the nerve I might try to tweak a little just to see and if I mess it up I can reset to factory specs. Sound is good to excellent heck it's Sony; however, I was thinking why couldn't the engineers at Sony design a speaker system that would either swing down and face forward or detach to your place of choice. This would save space in the tv cabinet and the sound would be much improved. When I was shopping for a tv I was looking for the picture, SMART, refresh rate, headphone jack, # of HDMI, and viewing angle. How the tv looked wasn't a big deal to me but having it now for some two weeks I think it's very elegant in an unobtrusive way-It doesn't stand out or in. The remote is easy even I figured it out-intuitive. Overall, for all my research, questions I'm very happy with my Sony although the only app. I use is NETFLIX my Sony has way more capability than I'll use but I didn't by it for the app's-sorry I can't help you there.

Good TV but Google Cast is unusable
on July 19, 2015

In the month or so that I've had this W800C TV, I've had very mixed feelings about it. The TV itself is quite good. The picture is great, the sound is good, it has plenty of inputs, and Android TV is generally pretty good to use.
My main issue with this TV however is with the Google Cast feature. This feature allows you to play videos from a bunch of websites on your TV by selecting them on your phone or laptop. For example, if your phone and TV are on the same network, an extra button will appear on a youtube page that lets you play it directly on the TV without having to stream it through your phone or laptop. I specifically purchased this TV and passed up on other TVs since Android TV has the Google Cast feature built in.
I've been very disappointed with how poorly casting works. The audio and video get out of sync constantly. After watching a casted video for a while, the video can be playing up to 30 seconds behind the audio (and it gets worse over time). I'll hear whats happening way before I actually see it. This happens from many different video sources and different devices that I've tested. This has effectively killed the feature for me. If I had known that this feature would not be working, I probably would have bought a different TV.
I really, really hope that this can be fixed with a software update.

Very poor black uniformity
on June 8, 2015
Posted by: AZzackP
I purchased this TV a few days ago and immediately noticed a lot of clouding during dark scenes of movies. Tested black uniformity by putting a pitch black image on the screen in a dark room and saw a number of unexceptable clouding spots over the entire screen. So much so that I exchanged the set for another thinking I had a defective unit. The second one has the same uniformity issues as the first, only in different spots. The W800B does not have this poor black uniformity problem. This is new with the W800C. Sorry to say, I will be returning the set and pursuing another brand. The other features are great! 24p playback, native 120Hz, android TV... Really loved Sony tv's and Sony products in general and am very sad to see this poor quality from such a prestigious company.
