This replaced a six year old 46" XBR9. The only reason for purchasing a new TV was size. Our primary use is watching movies and the 65" is amazing. Also, the picture is superior to the old set whether watching broadcast, streaming, standard def, high def, DVD or Blu Ray. The old set's refresh rate is 240hz and this set is 120hz. Sony's added technology has made the reduced refresh rate a non issue. The initial set up including the connection to our Wifi network was effortless. We are confident this new for 2015 KDL model will prevent us from buying another Sony TV for a few years.
Picture - Excellent - I've seen better, although it does not detract (dark scenes can sometimes be too dark)
OS (Android TV) - Great - Intuitive - Needs more apps, this will happen in time (e.g. Vudu, Facebook, other google apps) - Would like it to connect to Chrome, Google+, Picassa, World, Maps, etc. - Needs a true off or restart button. The power button turns off the screen and will pause whatever you are doing, but it does not actually shut down the TV and the operating system. Eventually I had too many things running and nothing was working quite right. I unplugged the TV and plugged it back in and everything was working again. I feel like this is the sort of thing that could be fixed with a software update.
Other Things - I had a bluetooth keyboard and mouse just laying around, not being used that i decided to see if i could connect. Not sure what i will be using them for, but it was real easy to connect them.
Browser - Believe it or not, I have not found a browser yet. Maybe I am just a bit slow (usually not the case with these things. I'm usually pretty good).
Side TV - Had trouble connecting my LG G3 to the Side TV app.

Great Picture, but no Playstation Now

Really happy with the image. Great blacks, really pops on screen. A bit annoyed that it was advertised as having Playstation Now, but apparently the firmware for my area is not released yet. Sony support said to wait until the end of summer, but if it wasn't a feature, not sure why it was advertised as one.

I don't how to rate this TV based on my first 2 hours or after that! Let's start with the first couple of hours of experience: Stunning picture! WOW! Playing Destiny never felt that good. Lots of options to switch and pick the colors you'd like. UI looks neat, similar to the PS4.
Then goes the big fail: I ran a software update...and that was the last thing I was able to do. TV stopped working despite that I've waited over 45min for the update. It's a shame that Sony products feel so fragile against a simple software update...
Overall I would have been very satisfied if my TV didn't stop working.

Sony meets Android

Got this tv with great excitement. Loved the picture quality. I have had this TV for little over 3 weeks. Had several issues with sound, wifi , chromecast, homework setup and remote control apps. The sound issue faded after a factory reset. The chromecast, home network setups went away after a software update. But the wifi issues are still lingering. I am just concerned that any of these issues might pop up again. But Sony is working with me. I will update my review once there is a resolution.

Hi laba143, thanks for bringing this to our attention. We will forward your information to the proper department. Thank you for your feedback.
Picture is not as good as older 1080 sets I have now. There are times when the sound does not match up to actor's speech. I found it difficult to adjust sound and picture on this TV compared to other 1080 sets I've owned. The stand seems weak and like it will barely hold the TV, I would have thought it would be stronger. The recessed HDMI cable connection made it difficult to connect HDMI cables. I should have purchased another brand.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello BlueSammy! Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with this unit, we would like to apologize for not meeting your expectations with this Android television. Based on the information you have provided, we would like to recommend to try the steps available through the following link to try to fix the issue you have described with the sound delay:
I would give this TV a 5 out of 5 if it wasn't for the short handed apps. I bought this TV thinking it will play HBO GO and other apps because it was an android capable tv but I guess I was wrong. Everything is working great so far, quality is good and no lags when surfing the menus and switching inputs. Hope they will upgrade apps soon to include the most in demand apps in this day of age and also no browser, I read it has Opera but no browser..
