Awesome dishwasher, true to its reputation

Bought the True Steam washer with the understanding that no matter how much food was left or dried on the dishes, this product would leave them clean. We have really put it to the test and it gets an A plus rating!!
Another feature that was marketed was how quiet it was. Unbelievably true. My wife actually forgets it is running.
The drying feature is fantastic as they are completely dry when you go to empty it.
It's not inexpensive by no means but very much worth the cost. I recommend it with enthusiasm.

This product is exceptionally quiet.

I love the quietness of the dishwasher.
Cons: The things I don't like are:
The lower rack derails constantly, especially when it is weighted with dishware as if the rollers are not wide enough.
The middle rack design is universal but it doesn't allow for glassware to be racked without most of them falling over.
At the end of the washing cycle if the green light would stay on indefinitely, other members of the family would know the dishes were already washed.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, Quality, super quiet

love love love this dishwasher

We had an Electrolux dishwasher so the bar was set very low. Lots of space, cleans very well, very quiet, easy to install. Absolutely love the 3 row and the steam cycle. It steams on both levels. We looked at several dishwashers. Never had a LG. I am convinced that LG is the real deal. We got a good deal on the dishwasher due to some tape on the outside door. It however is worth every penny they are asking for it.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

Wonderful Product

I really like this dishwasher. Having used many other brands in the past this is the first LG I have purchased. Having three racks to separate things is wonderful. I don't end up with spoons nesting together and not cleaning. The screen in the bottom is removable to clean, This is great with kids who don't always rinse things. After my husband finished connecting everything and I ran it for the first time, we stood in the kitchen looking at each other and asked is it running? It is so quiet we were not sure if it was running or not. Recommend this product to everyone I know who is looking to replace an older dishwasher.

Dishwasher

We have had the dishwasher for over a year and like it. We have two issues. First, in a load there is always a few items that don't dry. Always need to wipe some items off before putting away. Second, we have found a few drops of water coming off the bottom left front of the machine near the end of the wash cycle. Not every load but just sometimes. It is very small (almost not enough to notice) but enough so stain the hardwood floors in our kitchen. I call LG support and they claim it is humidity related. The serviceman they sent out could not find anything. Said if problem persisted he could replace the door seal. When I called him back to do so he never returned multiple calls. I replaced the damaged floor. Now we put a bowl down to catch any drops if it occurs. Not exactly what you want to do with a new machine but it works.

Cleans great with steam

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have had this dishwasher for almost a year now. I have a second dishwasher that does not have the steam feature, and this one with the steam does a much better job with dried on food. Leaves all my dishes sparkling. Love the 3rd rack for large silverware.

PROBLEMS AFTER JUST A FEW MONTHS
on December 8, 2012

Purchased this dishwasher and after just a few uses started to have water leakage problems. The problem is not resolved therefore rendering the dishwasher useless since I cannot wash my dishes. Although the dishwasher looks good, it's quality is very doubtful since I began to have issues with it just a few months of its purchase date. I would not recommend this product due to its poor construction -- i.e. water builds up in the bottom of the dishwasher and doesn't drain on its own and water pours out of the steam nozzle.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A bit disappointed in the cleaning performance

I traded in a Samsung new dishwasher for this LG model. Having an LG washer which I love made this an easy choice for me. What I love is the adjustability of the racks, the 3rd shelf for utensils and small plastic items, the quietness of use, and the utensil basket. the appliance is very sharp and easy to clean. I also like the fact that you can take out the things you don't want like the plastic wine glass holder and the handle and tops on the utensil rack which I feel is unnecessary and cumbersome. What I don't care for is the configuration of the 2nd rack in that the 2nd rows are so skinny that they are pretty much unusable. I can't fit any of my glasses or mugs in them. I wish they were more uniform in size. I also find the flashing lights showing the cycle to be very annoying. It should not have to flash. The dish detergent dispenser does not close very easily and the dishwasher door won't hold up halfway; you have to push it up until it locks into place. I have found that despite using a rinse aid that my dishes are still wet and some have a cloudy film on them, especially my glass measuring cup bottoms. It seems that it is making the measurements fade on the cup. I tried the steam cycle and it takes off lettering on items. I also have not been impressed by the level of cleaning power on my dishes. Many still have food particles on them. If anyone has any suggestions regarding any of these items, please let me know. I have been using the Normal cycle.
