I hate this dishwasher

I bought this upgraded steam dishwasher because it had a lot of room. We had it professionally installed and it immediately smelled awful. We had LG send a repairman out within 6 months of purchase and he advised that the bad smell was because of a design error that keeps the larger capacity dishwashers from draining properly. We have had this fancy dishwasher for less than 2 years, which I have to run pretty much everyday or it smells up my kitchen, and i am shopping for a new one. It is pathetic what a waste of money this was.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I'm the husband that made the decision to buy this machine. I made that decision based only on what I knew of customer service. In short, LG stands alone at the top of that pile----nobody else even comes close. I figure if they give good customer service then the quality of their machines can't be bad. I was right---as usual. My wife just loves her Dishwasher. First with her---everything comes out sparkling clean---no need to prewash or rinse before putting them in the dishwasher---just scrape off excess large particles so you don't have to clean them out of the filter later. Put forks and plates in there with dried on egg yoke---they will come out sparkling clean----we haven't found anything that this dishwasher won't clean--and we've tried. It is an absolute fact that every thing we've put in there comes out just sparkling clean--everything. She loves the fact that she can adjust the pressure of the sprays top and bottom-----sometimes she needs strong pressure on the bottom rack to clean pots and pans but needs only a little pressure on the upper rack where she has fine china or whatever. Steam?---you want steam---just select it and go. I'm just so proud when she raves on about what a great dishwasher this is---me, I just like that it's very quiet and that it pleases her. In our time we have had just about any kind of appliance you could mention---and I've had problems with quite a few of them---and I've come to know about customer service--most of my experience in that area has convinced me never to buy another of those machines. The research I did prior to buying this machine was aimed solely at customer service---and LG ---by every account I've read---and some testimony of friends that own LG appliances---have let me to buy their product---and my choice of this model could not have been better----It's a wonderful machine---LG will back it---I know they will because that's the way they do business. They have earned the praise I give them i this report. PS---Use the rinsing compound ---as they recommend.

Dishwasher is the best I have owned. Very Quiet Dishes come out Clean.. Very Sleek on the Out/Inside. Love the Features too!

Washes good, very quiet, but the lower right roller always gets off track when loading, so to get it back on track is fussy because now you have a loaded tray of dishes,

We love this diswasher! We love the third rack for our silverware which makes getting them clean easy and easy to pickup so you don't touch anything but the handle when putting them away. We love the sanitizing rinse feature that makes water 160 degrees. I like that I can tell what stage the washer is on by the 4 lights on the front.
I know people complained about the tongs falling down but so far that is not a problem for us. I do however see if you have heavy dishes how they could fall down.
I also tried this washer without rinse aid and was dissapointed at how wet the dishes were even with extra dry on. I am not picky about some wetness but they were really wet. I put in rinse aid as it recommends you do and it is wonderful! It makes the world of difference and we don't even use the extra dry feature now even!
Overall this is a great product and it washes very well and we love all the options and the three rack system!

The Worst!

This is without a doubt the worst dishwasher I've ever owned. Unless I use the strongest steam setting, the dishes come out dirty. My plates will not stand up when stacked - they lean over on each other. The folding tines fall down at the slightest touch. Based on my experience with this product, I will never purchase an LG appliance again. Don't waste your money. This is NOT a cheap machine.

unbelievably quiet

I was frustrated by constantly having dirty top rack dishes with my old dishwasher (less than 5 yrs old)- which was rated high btw. I'd had two repairmen come different times. Turns out they left necessary pieces off the dishwasher. So I researched this dishwasher and kept my fingers crossed. I love it. It is so quiet you can barely hear it. The dishes come out clean. The ease of use is fantastic. Twist the filter to clean. When it's finished it sings a happy song. There's happy music just like the LG laundry machine (which I also LOVE) when the load is finished. It doesn't have steam dry but I find it is not necessary. The only issue is that it takes 2 3/4 hours to do a load. If you're not in a hurry then you will love this dishwasher.

Learning curve

I am optimistic this dishwasher and I will have a great relationship, but there is definitely a learning curve. I use extra dry and my dishes are still wet. I read another review so I will try their advice. Had not bought a dishwasher in so long, learning the new technology is tough.
