[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have purchased for both home and my store it is so handy to be able to send staff electronic keys rather than having to change locks when an employee leaves. At home we can send to contractors and relatives which makes things so convenient

Love this Lock!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Installing the lock was easy and I'm no expert. I've been using the lock for 6 months and do not know what I would do without it. It makes opening the door with your hands full so easy. Just touch and open. Really. That simple.

My kids can now use the front door - love my Kevo

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For many years we avoided giving our kids keys to the front door, After losing keys you need to change the locate insure our safety. With the Kevo, not only can my kids use the front door but it is also easy to give keys to guests when they are staying at the house. It also makes it easy to have people check on the house when we are out of town.... i just email them a key. Simple solution and great tech support.

Nice idea, erratic operation!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this just over a year ago. Install was easy and appearance is very good. Features such as being able to send someone your key ( if they have an iphone) come in handy. I have two issues with this product. The lock does not always open or lock on the first or second try. The second issue is very annoying, if you happen to brush up against the lock as you exit the door it may lock behind you ( even though you dont have your phone with you!). Once I opened the unlocked door to let my dogs get some exercise and about 10 seconds later I heard the door lock mechanism operating. I was locked out with no key or phone and waited three hours for my wife to return home from doing some errands. I wasnt too happy but the dogs enjoyed the extra play time!!! Now I dont shut the door all the way in those situations unless i have my key or phone on me.

Pros:
1) it's easy to install
2) looks fine from the outside although a bit large inside

Cons:
1) range is flaky at best - sometimes I can stand next to it with phone in pocket and it doesn't see phone. Other times I can be standing in the driveway 15 feet away and it works.
2) it's SLOW. It is NOT a time saver. In the time it takes to 'see' my phone and then turn the actuator (except the week or two it was brand new) I could have pulled keys out of my pocket and unlocked the door and been inside. This is a real consideration when it's raining out since our back door isn't under cover.
3) no zwave integration

I don't carry house keys so this is nice. However, b/c we had a unit flake out and lock me out, we now have a key locked in a combo-lock box that's available in a pinch. Kwikset's troubleshooting advice when we had this issue was "just keep a key with you." Ugh.
Overall, we are happy with this but it's just not where it needs to be. If you like gadgets and don't mind dropping the $$'s then it's fun. But if you are hoping this is going to really impact the coming/going of your home? It's probably best to wait till the product is innovated.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent when it works on time

Even though I believe this is excellent but I have few problems which I hope it get rectified.
Sometimes it does not connect to phone and it does not open door.
Sometime it acts too quickly and before you shut door it fires and release latch!
Still it is good for people like us who have habit of loosing keys.
Best thing about it, it has a real key too.
