Defective Product

The lock has not performed. I paid over 200 plus 100 for a gateway and the product lasted 1 year on the first generation and the 2nd generation only lasted 5 months.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great lock with improving software

I've had the Kevo Bluetooth lock for a few months now and I'm very happy with it. Though I was concerned about buying one after some negative reviews surfaced, the lock has worked very well for me and I believe the recent software updates are responsible for the improvement overall.
Installation was a little more difficult than one would think, but I also had an older lock to remove with a hole too small for the Kevo. Otherwise I felt like the instructions and lock pieces made sense.
Locking and unlocking with both the keyfob and my iPhone 6 has gone fairly smoothly. I do wish it was a little faster once you touch the deadbolt, but I don't find it to take too long.
My biggest complaint would be not being able to lock the Kevo from my iPhone if I'm not in reach of it. That said, there is a Kevo Plus coming with a new system to handle this, but it will have a monthly fee associated with it, which might be a deal breaker for some folks.
Overall I'm very happy with my Kevo and Kwikset customer service has been fantastic to work with on the 1 occasion where my iOS app was having issues.
I would recommend this to a friend!

convenient lock system

I've had this Lock for about 18months now..
it's been working pretty well for my family and it's good to know that the developers of the app are pushing out updates to keep it as current as possible. If you have a standard thickness door the install should be straight forward...unfortunately my door is 2-1/4" thick and I had to call customer service to send me a longer torque blade. After I received the item and replaced it, It was a breeze to set up. For best results, it's better to have your phone out and close to the lock when trying to unlock. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Good lock, good design. But no remote control

I bought this a year ago. It has been working great. However, it lacks a remote lock/unlock feature. This is the only setback of this product. Waiting for the Kevo Plus feature. But, I heard that you have to pay a monthly fee for the Kevo Plus. Maybe, I would consider other locks for a remote access without a monthly fee.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is the most futuristic and flawlessly functional door lock I have ever seen! Works excellent from both my smart phone and the 3 key fobs I have. I can open the door with BOTH HANDS FULL with packages using my elbow! No more searching for keys, and using my smart phone, no more worries about losing keys or lock-outs.
Sending e-keys to other smart phones for remote entry works excellent. 100% SAFE, SECURE, AND TAMPER-PROOF!
Product is not only attractive with it's circular pattern of colored indicator lights which surround the lock cylinder, but functions FLAWLESSLY 100% of the time. INCREDIBLE battery life, as I have not changed batteries for MONTHS after literally hundreds of lockings and unlockings.
Product is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! LOVE IT! :-)

Product that Kids can Use!

We purchased it a year ago because our son had problems with Keys and remembering codes. We keep the fob in his backpack so after he gets off the bus he can get in the house. He is mentally delayed so he has problems with remembering codes and we love that he can get in the house even when we forget to open the door just before his bus comes. He loves it because it help him become more independent. It put a big smile on his face just to open the door. AND with the new Android app it great for us also, no more fumbling for the keys. It even works better than the Apple app that made you open the app to the front page before it would work, on the Android you just have to have it running in the foreground. LOVE THE LOCK! Keep up the great work. Only thing I would add is if you could lock the door from any where. Attaching it to your router or something like that. Thanks Again for Helping us make our son more independent!

Nothing but trouble

Have trouble with locking and unlocking randomly. Have been locked out and also have come home to find my door unlocked. Has been replaced but the issues remain.
