I am done with Kwikset

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This lock works half of the time. It won't work with my Alexa without a conversion kit. Kwikset is starting to become the new dumb lock sets. I use them for our property management portfolio and I have opted to start using the August Smart Lock. Catch up Kevo.

Good concept, but needs work

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the Kevo and Kevo Plus about six months ago. I've had to troubleshoot both more than once; and the Kevo Plus needed to be replaced. Kevo has worked generally but not reliably. I'm hoping that this concept gets developed further for next generation.

Looks like a regular lock

I like that it looks like a regular lock but works with my phone. Wish I didn't have to have the app open got our to work. Like being able to see this status of the lock regardless of where I am

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I installed this about 5 years ago and continue to find it a struggle.
Touching the unit to lock and unlock via bluetooth is hit and miss (mostly a miss).
So, until yesterday, I used Alexa to lock and unlock the unit, which worked okay, until it didn't. It requires a pin to unlock (for good security). My pin suddenly didn't work, and now the Kevo app tells me that I need to re-program a new pin after two many attempts to enter a pin which wasn't recognized, but has worked for the last five years.
There are no easy instructions for re-setting the pin. So, I'm still struggling.
Also, even though the lock is installed in a standard door, in standard cutouts, it often (usually jams), which is also a problem with my other Kevo deadbolts.
I can usually lock and unlock via the iPhone app, but it's easier to just get out the key.
This lock was expensive and has provided more than its share of grief.
I'm waiting for a model that lives up to the advertised features.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We're here to help with what you're experiencing. We recommend deleting the Kevo app and reinstalling it on your phone, ensure that the Kevo lock is connected to the Kevo Plus, then attempt to repair the lock to Alexa again. If the lock is jamming, please follow these steps to fix this: measure the door frame jamb hole to ensure that it's at least 1 inch deep for the latch to extend fully. Check that your door is aligned properly, that the interior mounting screws are not too tight, and perform the manual door handing step below.
1. Open the door and extend the latch to the locked position.
2. Remove the battery pack.
3. Press and HOLD the Program button while reinserting the battery pack. Release button once the battery pack is installed. The status LED will flash red and green.
4. Press the Program button once more.
5. The latch bolt will retract about halfway in and then extend to learn the orientation of the door.
